when I was out on my trailer last winter I was driving through snow that was up to the cab deep and I had no problems driving around the campground in 4x4. the only time I got slowed down was going up hill. I still managed to crawl forward tho and that was with the same tires as you. like I said, they haven't done me any wrong so far

Snow is fine, but now do the same on the black ice, can’t beat winters in that condition.

They don't save you if you are driving like crazy lol, but they stop wayyyyyyyy better than all season tires, trust me (especially if you pump the breaks instead of trusting stupid ABS), tested in a real life condition back in January.

hahaha I wasn't driving crazy but I get what you mean hahaha and I agree about the stopping compared to all seasons, all seasons are garbage lol pumping the breaks is the way to go for sure. sometimes I hate the ABS lol I have almost rear ended a few people because of it. I was on pure ice in my work van and I was trying to pump the breaks but ABS was like no your going to keep going forward lol

But 4x4 won't do a thing for stopping. That's why a dedicated winter is best

but its 4 times the stopping power no? o_O

I don't disagree but I don't drive my truck on a daily basis to justify the expense of winter tires. I have a work vehicle so most the time my truck sits all week without moving haha

I run Toyo AT2 right now and they are ok. Quiet on highway, good in rain and snow. In snow you need 4x4 if its it's heavy.
I would buy them again but I want to try something different next.

    G to the Arbage

They do not self clean mud and just become slicks in no time.

Your stopping power is limited by the tires.

The only annoying thing with winter tires - the ones designed for ice (X-Ice2/3, Blizzak) pack up easily in deep snow, while the deep-lugged tires (Duratrac, STMaxx) are not as good on icy/slushy pavement. Duratracs with studs would work well in both conditions, but are not road legal in southern ON.
