I've seen a video of someone running a Honda motor with gear oil, then antifreeze, then water, then nothing and you wouldn't know anything was wrong until it randomly seized up. I'd K swap it.

 

We're gonna find out!!

 

I can tell you that a H22A4 will run with about 1/2 quart of oil in it. Knocks and pings like crazy, but valve chatter was normal anyway.

However, a cup of oil is not enough!

 

Don't tell Toyota fans this but Honda engines are better ...

 

If it had more torque, I'd put a H22 in mine without a second thought!

 

Id put the fc20 in mine with a big turbo if I was picking a Honda motor...

Now that I thought more on the H22 thing, I realize aluminum block and heads might not be all that great for off road use. Chances of overheating goes up. Never mind their affinity to sweat and/or mysteriously use up oil that doesn't come out the exhaust

 

F20c1 has an aluminum block though...

Problem with Honda motors is the lack of torqueower ratio. Great thing is that you have a mile of revs

 

Not sure about heads but yea the high revs for hill climbs would be cool

My family had a 2000 Honda Civic for about a decade. All three of us kids drove it at one point, and it never needed anything, that lawnmower engine just kept running. It also got broken into twice, which hasn't happened to any of our other vehicles, someone tried to hotwire it but it blew a fuse and it wouldn't start. Good car, just no power.

 

Research the new type R 10th gen civic motor. Look at its torque numbers. Torque to power ratio is very nice.

It's very easy to make 600whp from a b18. With that much power, I'm sure there's plenty of torque with it. Hell even if it's half at 300wtq that's 100 more then your truck has now.

You could always do a full Pilot engine and drivetrain swap. They have a 3.5 v6. There's an Odysey floating around on the interwebs with its stock motor in it making 1000+whp. I'm sure that comes with plenty of torque

 

I'm looking to put my lift on here soon and have a couple questions. Should I bother with a small top plate spacer for the driver side if the coilovers are adjustable anyway, and does it hurt anything to have it?
I've heard it's worthwhile to change the needle bearing to a clamshell bearing, as long as I'm in there anyway, do you need to do anything for the passenger side?

 

Japan has all the cool Honda shit. I've seen the 1k hp van on Top Gear

I'll definitely looks at those motors though!
