Im just putting it out there. My personal experience. I would not do it again. Ever. Take it for what it's worth. Do as you please with your vehicle. It's a free country. :oldglory:

The test will be if it stops when you switch back. If it does then we're on to something. If it doesn't it's probably back to inconclusive.

The only things people should accept are scientifically supported claims.

Finding the source of your issue is better than just assuming its something random. Going back to your old oil doesn’t fix your leak.

I bet you farted in your truck between now and the last oil change. Perhaps it was one time too many and that’s why the leak?

If you aren’t motivated to figure out why this happened to your truck not sure why you posted.

I doubt the oil had anything to do with the leakage.

Probably was gonna leak anyways . Kinda like when you leak, you were gonna take a leak regardless of what fluid you drank.

Some fluids leak with more urgency, although that may be volume related.

Had that happen once. I got in the truck after draining the oil to grab something out of the center console and a ripped a huge nasty fart. After that oil change my oil pan leaked terribly. It took me almost 3 weeks to figure out why. The oil pan is very well dampened when filled with oil. But apparently when empty, the oil pan has a resonant frequency of about 42hz. This of course is with the drain plug IN. Without the drain plug the hole acts as a speaker port and "tunes" the chamber to a lower frequency. Anyway, that 42hz note is nearly the exact same as a fart. Long story short, with the drain plug IN (forming an airtight seal) the resonant energy of my epic fart built to a point where it barely ruptured the oil pan seal. Really pissed me off I didn't realize it could be an issue till after the fact. Truth be told, if I'd left the drain plug out or the top off the filler neck I'd have probably been just fine.

if this theory is correct than switching back to the original Castrol oil this should stop the leak?

If the leak is already there, not sure how switching back would fix the leak. A hole is a hole.

the OP says as soon as he went to a different oil the leak started, whats funny is that he switched to a Dino oil from what I assume was a Synthetic ? synthetic oil will find leaks much more than a Dino oil

Such an easy fix. Install a new pan gasket easy peasy. Torque it to specs and add any ol oil you want. Or easier just tighten up the pan bolts and see if that stops the leak. Actually the very first I’d do would be to torque the oil pan bolts, that may likely solve the leak. The last thing I’d ever consider to be the cause of the leak is the oil.

You're "hoping" the leak stops and not actively trying to fix it... That is STUPID!
