Also Brian if I remember correctly you did rug road with your 2wd truck when you knew you shouldn’t have been on it. If I see nick stuck in the snow I’ll laugh at him then pull his truck out.

In. And thanks to the organizers for all you are doing for both of these outings. Calling an audible in order to do things correctly was the right way to go.

IMHO It's not a fun Off-road run if someone doesn't get towed. Stuck towed. Not broken towed:bikewhoops:

But I also understand not every 2wd Drivers want to get towed.

Gotta remember a few of these trails are closed.... Coke ovens, Martinez, etc.

Also, for those saying back way to CK is doable in 2wd. You're asking for it. Its really tore up. Sure some of you have relatively built prerunners. But doing an open 2wd invite IS dumb. People will go thinking its cool and its not and they won't know until they are in it. Its also not cool coming to a trail under prepared because you did it before, with this many people its not the time to puff up your chest and be an idiot.... On a run with lots of people you will become the source of frustration for many, and potentially do some big damage to a guy in a truck that got over his head from lax trail descriptions.... This is not cool either, big meets are to be fun. Not everyone deals with "trail damage" or character...
Challenging yourself on a tricky line is much different than constantly needing a yank, or sliding off the side of a ledge road.....

Add rain or snow like last years meet and CK will be a challenge for anyone.....

I was there when we lost GearBox's truck in 2011. I am happy if no one needs to be towed out.

Edit: This was on the road out of CK. The side of the road just gave out on him. Was on flat road. He and his dad came out uninjured and the panhandlers were lucky enough to be about to move out of the way when they saw him coming at them. I think we had over a 100 trucks that trip.

I was two trucks behind him, the truck directly behind him never saw him go over the side and just kept driving. A lot of people learned an important less about watching the truck in front and behind you at all times.

Also, the pour guy was winched out by the one jeep in the group. Hard to ever let that down.

I actually tested that back in October at a bar I frequent down in Mexico... wanted to see how many beers it takes before I get a solid buzz/borderline drunk. Evidently 37 modelo’s is the answer
