1st gen. 03 with drive by wire and cable throttle body.

Have any of you guy had a issue with the throttle body sticking closed. I already cleaned it out and made sure everything was smooth inside but I still get a code after I gun it, let off and try for to get going again the truck will stall. I would have to pull over and restart the truck again to get going.

Frankenstein has done that before multiple times.

Not a normal thing but does happen.

It started for me once I opened up the exhaust. Never got a CEL

That is super depressing, for some reason I was under the impression his Albins was a sequential with a clutch.... I must have been projecting my own dream on to the situation....

Ok. It’s starting to happen more often now. To early in the winter to have to buy a 1000 throttle body. Needs to last until spring when hrs pick up again. I would go used but I don’t want to chance it. Rather get new.

Think I would be riding nutts, if I went with the h70s. With a rear Swingout.... + a 33x12.50. Or wouldn't be bad... I would prob have my rack and tent on too most of the time prob around 100-120 rack+tent

I know very little about these kinds of things, just going on what he said during an interview. But I think he does still have a clutch, he said they run torque converter with manual valve bodies so its not a direct shock. My take would be its like the auto/stick cars but with a clutch too, like an auto that you tell when to shift, with a clutch ? Seems like everything in baja is super secret so who knows

Auto trans with reverse manual valve body is the ideal set up for 99.99% of all live axle rear desert race/prerunner "trucks". Its basically an auto tranny that you manually shift in to each gear. The #1 tranny used 100 times more than anything else is a TH400 (Turbo 400)..... The torque converter absorbs the repeated shock loads like you were mentioning, allowing the tranny to live. Outside of the TH400 there are a few high end (read: Trophy truck)teams that run custom very high dollar gear boxes, but not many, and they are still auto trannies.

I was under the impression Robby had cracked the code and was running a true "manual"/clutch tranny, but I haven't paid nearly as much attention to the rumor mill on RDC in the last couple years to stay up to date. Its entirely possible that he has a sequential tranny with a torque converter.

Any of you third gen guys who put on bedsides have a stock passenger side bedside preferably Grey you’d be willing to part with?

    Long or short?

How good of condition does it have to be?

I have my long bed ones. Dark Metallic gray. But they are trimmed and I had flared them out a little but you can undo that. You just can’t undo the cutting.

If those work he has to take both and they are free. They are in San Jose.

Anyone running 2" spacers in their rear axle ? I'll have to run the shocks outboard the frame for SUA, I guess we ran I to some problems with the charcoal canisters mounting them inboard. I'll have to upgrade to a bigger axle down the road but would I be stupid to trust that big of a spacer? I have .75s in the front already (to clear calipers on 15s) but would buy 4 to get a equal wheel base around all 4 corners. ... here's the stance currently IMG_2611.jpg
