I'd be down if we found things along the way too. there's a few things I wanted to do but didn't mention because of the distances.
It's hard to fit so much in a specific time frame.

    Overrated...

Then again when I was there, the fire alarm went off within 5 minutes of me entering the building and they had to evacuate the premises, leaving me with no tour

Still, wouldn't want to go there again. Would rather tool about in Boulder and/or Golden. There's a cool geology museum a the Colorado School of Mines....

Actually, screw that, I'm not driving out west to see shit I've already seen.

YESSSS. Medano Pass is in the park.

Penitente Canyon nearby has great MTB'ing and might have some worthy trails for the trucks. Zapata Falls is a really pretty hike nearby. And just north of there, you can get some really gnarly trails near Salida and Buena Vista.

There's a few trails in Buena vista I was eyeing actually, I think we should pass through the mountains on the east there. Also have you ever done black bear? Because I still can't get over how insanely sketchy it looks.. I haven't seen video of it until last night lol

I haven't done it but I've seen it from Imogene. The switchbacks look crazy. It's also really beautiful.

I don't even know if id be trying to enjoy the view while on the trail down lol but it is an amazing view. the switchbacks are the worst part imo, looks like 3 point turns for every single one and some are on some super steep declines.

I don't do well with heights. But Black Bear Pass just seems mandatory.

I don't either and Im thinking the same thing. I can't travel halfway across the country and not do something so iconic. Ill just have to change my pants when I get to the bottom :anonymous:

I was reading some peoples experiences on black bear. they were saying 4Lo is your friend for the downhills and that the switchbacks could be a 3 point turn, but maybe for longer trucks. jeeps obviously would have no problem. any DCLB will more than likely be a 3 point, but maybe my Access cab will be ok to take it in one shot.

From what I was seeing even 2 door jeeps were doing 3 point turns on half the switchbacks, that could just be precautionary because they don't wanna get so close to the edge :notsure:
