TRD Pro Clone- in Quicksand

Just found this listed here in San Diego. Another clone and I think he has two different headlights to boot but it also could be the pictures.

Flame this or not. I have no opinion on it. But I do think his listing should mention it as a replica and not an actual TRD Pro.

 

Worse yet, I think that's the one that was posted on there a long time ago and it's got a salvage title lol.

 

Sort of funny but the dude is a POS if he’s advertising it as TRD Pro.
What he should have done was post it as the original, I’m guessing TRD OR and mention the TRD Pro stickers/badging were just that...stickers/badging.

 

Well, that's what badging does. It's a statement of ownership of a particular product.

Hard to tell from the pic but those leather seats don't look like the real deal factory OEM black leather ones. On his Craigslist ad there is a pic that shows the back of the front bucket seat and it has a seat back pocket. On the Pro only the front passenger seat has a seat back pocket.

I don't understand all the fake/clone TRD stuff myself. But what do you expect when you live in a society where men can pass themselves off as women and vice versa. I mean is anything real or authentic these days?

So just replying back to this thread. I emailed him right off the bat this morning and said that he should advertise it as a replica. His response was that it actually is a TRD Pro and he can provide the VIN number. And then I responded back to him that that truck has the wrong rims, wrong suspension, mismatched headlights,and lastly did not come in quicksand. I never heard back from him after that.

Honestly I'm under the opinion that is long as you own the truck you have the right to do whatever you want. I'm just thinking after viewing stuff like someone passing off replica Pros as real Pros could possibly face legal action in the future. Or even that I just feel bad for the uninformed sucker who could buy it.

 

We all know in 2016 Toyota didn't even make a Pro. Trying to sell the truck as a Pro and claiming it as a Pro is misrepresentation.

I like the truck and cars. Great Job on the build beautiful work, but you could have done without the "cash is no issue, I have plenty of money to spend", just kinda a snobby thing to say. But maybe that's just me. But it's an awesome truck and you have done a great job!
