    Do any of you guys do any cloud mining? I've got a couple hundred bucks in hashflare that I'm debating on whether it wouldve been a better investment to ride the waves instead...HF locks you in to a 1 year contract. I was waffling between HF and a physical mining rig, but my preliminary research was leading me to believe that you're looking at an average 3mo ROI and then the unit becomes obsolete at 1yr...

    I've never tried cloud mining, just regular mining and I wouldve been better off to take the investment and buying coins, even with todays losses I would have been way ahead. So in my opinion just buy some coin and HODL.

    Ya, I think I've got a bit of buyers remorse there, but nbd...it was only a fraction of my earnings so I didn't hamstring myself too badly.

    my rig is probably the biggest power hog right now lol. But ill be upgrading it in the somewhat near future and will do pretty well coming out neutral in the upgrade.

    Your rig wont be obsolete in a year. There are tons of people still using cards that are 4 years old (I know I am) and making good profits. Heck even people using older than that. Its just a matter of finding what will make you money.

    Its always a tough question to answer on is mining worth it. My feelings...it depends. Im mining coins I want to either hold on to or trade into something else (like xrp). So in a way all im doing is taking say $100 in electricity cost per a month which equates to say $300 in Coin A and either holding Coin A as an investment or trading Coin A to Coin B cause I want Coin B as my long term investment.

    Kind of like ETN. It has some decent news so prices I think will go up so I switched to mining more of it. In the short term ill probably trade off some o fit into more XRP but ill still keep a decent stock of ETN

    You've got to put your funds in a site that trades altcoins. A few examples are in the first couple posts. I'm in Binance along with a couple other folks.

    I was debating on whether I could plug my unit in here at work without people making a fuss...my biggest concern is just the obsolescence factor. If I may ask, electricity costs aside, what's your ROI currently on your older machines?
