I believe you can turn the key past the accessory position, into the on position, and just don't start it. Most vehicles it will ding for a while then quit. It will drain the battery quicker. Also, have you tried closing the driver's door, and opening the other doors to let the sound out? This is what I do when I'm working outside.

To be honest a lot of this is just out of principle for me. I don't need my truck to remind me with an annoying ding that my door is open, my seatbelt isn't buckled, or my headlights are on. I work in healthcare and I have to listen to senseless alarms all day, the last thing I want on my off days and the end of a shift is my otherwise awesome truck to nag at me in the form of a constant ding... The optimal solution for me is to find a way to pull that damn buzzer out.

Just wrap it up good with some tape. The muffled weird little sound would be entertaining instead of irritating.

This is a fight you will never win. I'm not sure they use removable buzzers anymore. I remember the days of leaving my lights on and my battery draining, now todays vehicles are smart enough to turn them off for you if you forget. I rode motorcycles for years, and bitched the whole time about I shouldn't be forced to wear a helmet. I got a helmet exemption sticker. Then I had a wreck, and realized how easily I could have died, leaving two kids fatherless. Safety stuff is annoying, but it saves lives. Just close the driver door and open the others.

If you really want to disable it you can disconnect the wiring on the door plunger. I've tried it and it works. The only caveat (and it was enough for me to reconnect it) is that your lights won't auto shut off. If that doesn't bother you and you remember to turn off your lights all the time then maybe that's your answer.

First I tried the Amazon seat belt extenders and this worked for the seat belts only. Then I read the post by \000/ and tried the disable the plunger by disconnecting the wiring and it took about 10 minutes to complete it. I wrapped the wiring with duct tape and left a little tab of duct tape sticking out of the hole and then reinstalled the disconnected switch. Just have to remember to shut the lights off. It worked for me.

I bet one of these put over the switch will hold it down temporarily. Just don’t forget it when you close your door, Maybe put flagging or other bright material to help you see it: These are great. I also used them at my old job to hold down fabric screens over my open windows when I wanted to get fresh air without the flies.

I didn't find a workaround, but I did disable the chime in the Entune apps in custom door locks. There is an off button to shut that shit off, make sure your motor is running or it will be greyed out.

I am 1000% with on you on this and think about this daily! I have tweaked the shit out of my Taco but this is the one think I haven't figured out. This and the stup-up chime are the opposite of helpful. They are just meaningless annoying beeps that desensitize us to the point we can't hear meaningful beeps. Thanks for so eloquently bringing this up. Maybe we need to ping the Carista app developers about this? Fingers crossed.

Side story - I do some photography work on large West Texas ranches and often ride with cowboys in the field. Navigating these ranches means periodically getting out and opening/closing the ranch gates they use to manage livestock in separate areas. Put the truck in park, open the door (beep starts), open the gate, get back in (beep stops), ride through, put it in park, open the door (beeping again), close the gate, get back in relived that the beeping is over and drive, etc all with the engine running. Repeat 20x every day. Of all the trucks I've ridden in on these ranches (all Ford or Chevy!) they don't beep but my Taco (which is actually made in TX!) does. [southern draw]"What's wrong with yer little truck?"[/southern draw] they say every time I get out to open a gate... So much for my "foreign brand" truck and blending in, lol!

Nice shot! I used to manage some reserve lands where sheepers graze, and even though I personally drove a Toyota, I tried very hard to get my boss to buy a Chevy or Ford instead of a Toyota as my work truck because I knew I wouldn’t be given much respect by the sheep company owners in the field for it - I was right - they also had a bunch of one liners about my ‘little truck’ always beeping and it’s tooting little horn also! LOL, it was rather embarrassing!

If you have access cab just open the rear door and it will stop. Annoying but stops the insanity.

This kills the stupid lock/unlock beep-beep. Not the door chime.

Can you elaborate on this? What several here are saying is that there isn't way for us or the dealer to disable the open door chime. Are you saying your dealer has a way around this?

Does Carista do everything TechStream can do, or TS the way to go? I'm having issues getting TS to see my vehicle, even though all drivers are loaded and it sees the cable fine. I have a wireless dongle I might try with TS to see if it will work.
