Picked up some needed goodies at Harbor Freight so I can do my cheap brake job. Bosch pads and rotors off Amazon warehouse (thanks @mstgeer for the hint) for about $40. Should hold me over until I can do OEM or, perhaps, a Tundra upgrade. Holy crap this place is dangerous to your wallet.

A lot more than 2 quarts, that might be what the pan holds but the TC and all the valve bodies plus cooler hold more. Get 10 quarts and return what you don't use. I like Castrol Transmax Dexron for Toyota trannies. You can get a 4 quart jug for like $16. My recommendation would be to pre fill the torque converter and pan until the dipstick says full cold, the run it check and fill to full cold again. Let it warm up all the way then slowly pour more until you reach full hot.

Sounds good, thank you. Should I initially fill it with 2 quarts and run the engine?

Oh - how do I tell that the torque converter is properly seated?

I explained that, fill it to Cold full mark on the dipstick first, turn the truck on run through all the gears without moving. Put it back in park and fill it again to the Cold full mark. Run through all the gears again if it hasn't gone down too much then let it warm up all the way go for a short put around the block slowly and then check to see how far up the stick it is when hot. You want it dead on the Hot full mark if it isn't keep filling it slowly while in park giving it time to come up to temp with the rest of the fluid, keep checking.

I'd check FSM or ask Dirty Pool, I've only done Mopar and Chevy autos and they're 3 clicks while rotating and pushing to make sure they're fully sunk in the fluid pump.

You can stab the oil filter with a screwdriver and use the extra leverage to loosen it, or wrap a leather belt around the filter and then grab and spin with a wrench to tighten the belt so you can loosen the filter. The wire, I'm not sure, I'd have to see where it goes.

That wire looks to be the one that goes to the oil pressure sensor there just next to the oil filter

Ordered pods and a harness. Pods won’t be here for awhile, said Jan 13 to Feb 10 hahaha.

So question, in my truck on the door rest there’s blank spot. I think it’s where the electric mirror mover buttons would go, if that makes sense. How hard would it be to get a switch and wire to there?

I’d take a picture but my trucks currently 1000+ miles away.

Gonna have a pretty pathetic pile of parts when I get home

Not tough, after taking the electrical tape of the inner rubber thingy between door and body you can run whatever you want through there easily.

Very easy to get wires there. Just remove the armrest/switch panel and you can fish the wires through. Or spend the extra 5 mins and remove the door panel and have full access to behind/under the switch panel.

I gotta change the door handle anyway so easy peasy I guess. Looks like a convient place for a switch.

At one point I was going to run grip heaters to behind the side mirrors. Thats where I would have put the switches.
