For the weather stripping I first marked the locations on tape as suggested then put the strip back in place. Held the spacer in place and traced around it with a ball point pen. Then for cutting the metal strip I used some heavy wire cutters cutting the metal strip removing a little more the width of the spacer, better to remove too much then to have interference. Then used a xacto knife to remove the rib between the cuts and then carefully cut just inside the pen line for the spacers. Use a new blade and it cuts easy. I tried to rig up a punch but didn’t have any luck but the xacto blade worked well.

The stripping does not keep the water out. Put waterproof kitchen and bath caulking on the last 1"-1.5" of the threads of each of the bolts that go into the cab. That is what keeps the water out. I think I am going on 3+ years with no issues.

    i have an install question,
So i cut the holes with a holesaw (big mistake!) and got the measurements/location perfect. My issue is that after i placed the spacers and weather stripping back on, the spacers moved vertically during installation because the watherstripping flex alittle. The bolts lined up perfectly and i know silicone got into the holes while securing the rack. I know the spacers are sitting solid in the silicone after installation, but im just worried water might get in. Also, the weather stripping didnt seem to be that tight after the install. Should i have used 3m tape to reinstall it?
I put a herseys size amount of silicone on the bolt hole like the instructons said, but im worried that water might get in since the spacers moved a little.

Use the 3/4" hole punch worked the best for me with no issues at all. Plus it looks clean as the spacers fit perfect.

I need to tell someone in here "I told you so":bananadead:

If you are that worried, unbolt the bolts into the came and load some more caulk on the bolts.

Ok, 3hrs later. I got Phase I of the rack installed. After reading the forums, I decided to leave the rubber seal off. I rather have it unmolested if I sell the truck someday.

The wind noise is faint at 40mph and doesn't really get bothersome until well over 80mph. I'm not sure if I'll buy the weather striping or not. I guess I'm hard of hearing. lol

Apparently, I don't know how to use a caulking gun. I busted my cheap Home Depot POS on the first bolt. Good thing I've watched my wife put icing on a cake. lol I ended up cutting the tube open and using the paper that shipped with the rack to make a funnel. I then squeezed the sealant onto the bolt holes. I got the shit all over the truck on the first pass. The second pass went much better. lol

Next up! Phase II, the camper shell. Any advise on mounting tracks to the Sungtop SuperSport?

The $10 weather stripping linked at the bottom of the page works really well! Highly recommend it.

    Quite a lot!
Ski carrier attached to the crossbars and Maxtrax attaches to the Load Panels.
@Jasenice thanks for the deal and speedy shipping!

I bought some more cross bar extrusions from tnutz.com, but now I need hardware for it. I'd like to get hardware that matches what came from prinsu, anyone have a good source?

Whoohoo! Got my Prinsu mounted this morning! Install wasn’t too bad. The hole punch method on the weather stripping is def the way to go!

Still need to run the wires for the light bar, but that’s a project for another day.

Looking good bud. Did you anchor the rod vault to the prinsu at all or just leave it be as mounted to the topper racks?

Appreciate it! It’s only connected to the Yakima crossbars on my camper top right now. Eventually I want to get a toprac and I may mount it differently... But that’ll prob be a while.
