    Yeah I kept it down already for the little one so that was lucky. I only get small Boston butts (3 of us) and it typically only takes 4-5 hrs. My smoker is an electric one barrel style. I've had it 6 years, used only monthly for the most part so minimal. It's the elements that got to it. A great affordable smoker for the beginner lol.

    Ah. Mine is charcoal. $130 CharGriller "grill" found at Lowe's and Wal-Mart. Can have a smoke box attachment, but I do the indirect method.

    Apple is my go to, sometimes mix it with cherry or hickory.

    Mobile, I’d look at the WSM’s if you want charcoal. You don’t need to be tied to electric, or tote propane around with you.
    I have the 18” one I got used, and it’s been awesome for me. I use it mainly for long smokes on shoulders or brisket. But have done ribs and other things in it as well.
