Whoa. Is it wrong for me to be partially cool. I am slowly converting. Swore I would never have a black grill but look at my avatar. Gimme a break. I am old.

From what I can see from pics so far, they are brighter than the V2's.

    Thank you!
Internally they are almost identical. It's because the V3 lens is more transparent so they appear "brighter".

Can't you make your wives hold an umbrella. After all it is the giving season AND you are installing these for their safety.
DISCLAIMER please note that I typed this message in my garage away from my wife

    Hahaha I know right!

My garage is tight. But I might be able to make it fit with room to work.

Have to run a couple quick errands and that car wash is on the way. With it raining I might be able to pull off the install there since no one should be trying to wash their vehicles.

I am also going to try to use a poly automotive trim tool to pry my covers off. I have a really nice set. Something about "ripping" it off just doesn't set well with me. With my luck (and mine is bad) I'll pull the whole mirror off.

I have this picture in my head of 15 plastic mirror cover pieces laying on the ground. I will use the trim tool too just to be safe. Using the tool may increase the install time from 5 minutes to 6 minutes.

I used a sort of choke hold to get them off. On the driver side (reverse hands for passenger), I used my right hand on the outside (farthest from the window) edge, and used my left forearm at the base of the mirror (against the black plastic non-cover portion). Pull with your right hand, and push with your forearm. It'll pop off, no problem, and your body will keep it from flying across the pavement.

I think the pry tools will not be needed, and could possibly mar your paint. Your fingers are much softer.

Good luck, it's super easy. Worst case scenario, two new painted covers are less than $100 on eBay.
