Yeah if there is about a 3% fee involved they can swing it. That’s not really acceptance though, that’s price gouging early adopters until the market reaches a point where the 3% no longer flies.

Credit card up pricing isn’t legal here. Not yet. I totally get what you’re saying, I’ve brought up the same discussion about fees in other threads.

Yup. It’s the old discussion of what rewards cards, and now crypto currency, will do to prices. Someone has to make more money somewhere.

I like to think of crypto like paypal was in early 90's. No one accepted that back then, right????

Except this PayPal can bring poor countries without a banking system to an international financial system that can almost instantly transfer value across the world. Or just to have a more stable currency than your governments currency at the moment (Zimbabwe, Venezuela, etc). And you gotta remember currency is just the first thing crypto can do.

The real magic here is Blockchain technology in general, not any one crypto in specific. It is still in it's early phase of development, which precedes the expected implementation. We are currently in the genesis phase of Distributed Computing Networks, it just so happens that Bitcoin and other popular cryptos are helping put the topic on peoples minds.

If you like Bitcoin or the concept of blockchain tech and haven't read more into Ethereum, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and ERC-20 "Smart Contracts", I would highly recommend giving it a gander. While I do indeed hold crypto for the commodity growth value, the technical concepts driving it are the real gold here.

Just how I rationalize the angle I am taking.

Nice, I'll add that, also your name for credit in OP contribution..

What would go good along with that is some notes of each, from peoples own personal experiences and what to expect.
i.e. like which deals in specific coins, or what one thing offers that another doesn't etc. I know some has been discussed thru the thread and some in OP already, but it'd be handy go to or reference (and to expand the info base etc) or just keep updated if they change etc.. we'll have to try and stay on top of that.

I just couldn't help myself but display this here as well. Something I will refer to as Crypto's "Dark Side". The potential applications of these transparent, though essentially anonymous ("Pseudoanonymous"), blockchain techs is the obviously unregulated status and can thus be applied in some ways and means that we don't all necessarily support. A truly double-edged sword.

Its kind of like the use of Gold in Alaska right now. People will take it and either cash it right away, or hold onto it hoping the value goes up. Know a guy (via a neighbor) who has a business that takes gold in AK. Said pretty much he would hold it till it was over a certain value then cash it in. If it was already to high he would put a value of his own on it (ie if market is 1k he would value it at 900).

I typed it into the phone.

Very well put, I was actually just thinking about how to phrase this to the group but you did much better then I would have.

There is a pretty good ted talk on this as well. I'll post it again.

Extreme case, and highly improbable. You really think Zimbabwe and Venezuela are going to let their citizens use bitcoin over their own currency?

Illegal or not people are going to do what they have to do. If not bitcoin, another coin.
