Fellow Glock fan here and I've had a few over the years. Here's my 27 I've carried daily since 2009. On my fourth holster now. Just added the TLR-6. Factory night sights are starting to look a little dim compared to new models. Thinking about replacing with some Trijicon HD's if anyone has a review on those?

I really like the 10-8 sights, or the RED Back One sights(use to be made by 10-8). I’m also a fan of a blacked out rear with either a tritium or FO front.

I trick myself by thinking I’m getting Glock reliability, mags that are only $20ish dollars, and the ergo’s of one of my Ed Brown’s. Spend $1k on a Glock, or almost $3k on a super sweet 1911‍♂️

It could be anything built for a specific purpose. Like the ALG 6 Second Mount, I’d consider that pretty purpose built.

I haven’t heard that acronym used for “plain black glock” before. I don’t know anyone who keeps those sight place holders on their G’s. Lol

And a sling! I’d get a flash hider and dump the flaming pig too.

Agreed with the sling(and also a torch on both weapons) but being a defensive rifle I'd keep the KX5 considering in when used in doors the concussion from that rifle, I'd want to send as much of that muzzle blast forward as possible but then that's what suppressors are for. :D

Lol I have the Magpul dual point sling but I’m not really a huge fan. Im looking for one of those elasticized slings. And what do you have against the flaming pig?

Can’t do a suppressor here in CA, as you probably know!

Elastic can cause nut shots when sling and moving. Look at the BFG Vickers, VTAC, Way of the Gun, or Magpul MS1 slings.

Totally agree on the suppressor. If I can’t have a can, I want to reduce as much flash as I can. If you look at the BE Meyers, SF FH’s, and quite a few others, they do an excellent job of reducing flash to almost nothing.

I’ll check out the slings you mentioned and do some research. But the KX5 is a hider. Can you elaborate?

Get a set of active, over the ear, ear pro too. Last thing you want to worry about is throwing on ear pro in a “bump in the night” deal, but it wouldn’t add a significant amount of time to throw them on.

If you’ve ever fired a gun indoors, or in a vehicle, especially w/o a suppressor. You’ll understand, it’s worth the 1+ second to throw them on.

If I’m not mistaken, the KX5 is not a hider, but simply directs the flash forward of the muzzle. They call it a flaming pig for a reason. Unless the KX5 is different than the flaming pig. I haven’t kept track.

Not apples to apples barrel length wise, but gives you an idea.

Different ammo and barrel lengths also come into play.

This is how this stays, every night. If/when I leave the house it’s locked in the safe, there are two stamps for this stick, and I’ll be damned if I make it easy to walk off.

Rubberband/masking tape your sling when staged too. A loose sling can get caught on all kinds of stuff.
