4WD Front End Vibration - like a rumble strip ??

Yah , not something that happens very often from what I've read. I've never used 4WD on bare pavement or anywhere that would cause any binding. Ran Mobil 1 gear oil since first service at 5K miles and then changed at 30, 60 and 90.

Bad luck.

My birthday is tomorrow...maybe something good will happen!

 

Forgot to say earlier underside looks pretty clean considering all elements you deal with in the winter.

Believe it or not but I've never treated the undercarriage either. Just run it through a touchless wash weekly in winter. One with a really good bottom blast.

 

I do the same but not as often and only if it's above 40 out too as I usually do a few other odds cleaning wise.

 

That's the key to keeping them alive up here.

 

Thanks bro! Part of vehicle ownership I guess. Other than regular maintenance, I've had close to 7 years of no repair costs. And, when I paid it off back in 2016, I set up a separate savings account and kept making the payments via direct deposit for saving for next vehicle. I'll dip into that fund.

 

This was on sale at my local NAPA. I'll use in my new front Differential.

Had my font Differential replaced on Friday, 12/29. Now, shifting in & out of 4WD (4 HI) is smooth as silk. Didn't have the need to try 4 LO. The tech allowed me into the shop area and raised my truck and showed me what he did and reviewed everything with me. Nice to see the undercarriage from that perspective. Its quite clean for nearly 7 years in Maine and for not having used any kind of undercarriage treatment. Very little rust on frame. New actuator was included as well. He also put on new/better & longer vacuum lines/hoses (I know nothing about this stuff). I bought new gear oil for the front Diff & Transfer Case (even though I had just changed them 5000 miles ago) since my front drive shaft was locked up. Transfer Case checked out fine. He also changed the rear Diff fluid so they'd all be on the same schedule again. Axles we're inspected and all checked out fine. He pointed out my needle bearings were perfect.

Fantastic service experience from my dealership.

Mark, I am in Maine too. Just wondering who your dealer is that provides great service, they are rare and hard to find. I'm in the Lewiston/Augusta area.
