In my experience, the six speed shifts better/smoother if I run the rpms between 2500-2700 in 1st and in 2nd gear. Then I try to shift at 2000 rpm. I found that with the Tacoma, you want to be pretty quick with the clutch release before the rpms drop. Once you find the sweet spot, you're golden!

Maybe a little more gas and/or a little quicker on the clutch.

No, never. Works just perfect with stock gears and 35” (FJ).

I have used Redline MT-85 and some RVS Transmission Protection stuff too: http://www.rvs-tec.com/index.php/transmission-treatment

I hope you aren't running this in your T-case! I don't know about this product specifically, but I have seen similar products, like Energy Release, clog the pick-up screen in the T-case. I would avoid using any type of additive in the T-case, including Teflon additives. If you notice, the manufacturer recommends it for use in oil bath systems, NOT forced lubrication systems. If you have put it in the T-case, I would pull the case and open it up to clean / check the screen. You may be lucky, but if not, your t-case is starved for oil. There is no way that I know of to flush a clogged screen without removal.

Do they sell MT-85 in Finland? Because of the climate? Here it is MT-90

RVS is not an additive, it’s a treatment. You can’t compare it to Energy Release or any similar type product. It will not clog anything. Only 10 ml is added.

Yes, I have used it in every ”oil hole” including transfer case and power steering. Over 80k behind and it’s worked very well, a little whine in transmission is gone after 2 treatments.
They sell MT-85 in US too. I had first MT-90 in the transmission but MT-85 works better in cold. 75W-85 oil is suitable for Aisin 6-spd transmissions:

and 75W-85 gear oil is which Toyota is recommend for differential gears.

I have Red Line Synthetic 75W-85 Gear Oil in transfer box and front/rear gears.

Everything between 1500-6000 rpm. :burnrubber: In normal driving maybe at 1700.
