Yes freedom is great, except when it's against the law and puts other people's lives at risk. You know how many accidents can be prevented if people were simply paying attention?

If it’s not the radio, it’s the burrito or the brats in the backseat or the cigarette or doing makeup or popping a zit or checking out the girl, etc.... which btw, these are all legal!!

    People will never pay attention.

Why stop there? With that logic let's let people drink while driving as well!

Isnt the first time hearing about owners not liking entune. But I guess im on the opposite side of the fence with this. Ive never had issues with it other than when the Iphone 8 came out, but they fixed that with an update. Everything works well for me, Nav works like a charm. But everyones mileage may vary.

In my area hands free calling is the law and we also have distracted driving laws. Yet every single day someone is in an accident from texting and driving or other forms of distracted driving. Back when cell phones were new you were suggested to pull over when accepting or making a call. Now everyone thinks yes ok I am paying attention when I text. Fact is recent research has proven that distracted driving is MORE dangerous than drinking and driving.

This shit kills. Who cares if you can’t do whatever you need to in motion. Pull the F over and do it or accept that it maybe is less important than not killing someone. Personally I can’t wait until it is law that all cell phone companies have to disable all features when in motion. We try real hard to stop drinking and driving so why do we allow something even more dangerous? I have had to take evasive maneuvers on my motorcycle due to texters more times than I can count.

    Distracted driving kills.

I don’t see the connection between pushing a button or two on the radio and drinking and driving.

Since you brought it up, We already let people take opiates and drive!

We all know it’s dangerous. We know coffee is hot. Do we have to keep repeating it?

OP already has a mom and dad. He just wants to know how to make his factory stereo more usable.

What's wrong with using the voice commands that let you do all the stuff Siri won't? Like entering new destinations and reading texts?

Well...I don't think there's any thing you can do then.

I’m in the risk management profession. I know more about risk management than anyone else on this thread. I evaluate risk and provide mitigation and remediation recommendations. I am also paid handsomely to do so. I am a skydiver, a motorcyclist, a US Army veteran with 27 months in combat zones and I’m also an adult. I am responsible for my own actions and know the potential consequences of my actions and I am willing to except the risk of plugging in a destination on a navigation system while the cruise control is locked at 80mph on I-10 in Arizona. So regardless of what your opinion is, I’m going to do it from the touchscreen on the dash or I’m going to do it with my phone in my hand, but either way I’m still doing it, I just want a system that makes it EASIER to do it so I can focus more on driving and less on trying to figure out how to read my messages.

Yeah let’s totally arrest people, make them pay $2500 bail, $2500 fine, loose their driving privilege for 6 months so that the loose their job, 3 months of classes and counseling, 40 hours of manual labor, 5 years probation, and 10 years on your driving record.

And why stop there? Since it’s worse than drinking and driving, let’s make the penalty worse.
Let’s just stone them, or burn them at the stake.

I’ll start a petition to put this on the ballot, I’m sure all the yahoos who voted that I need to now pay 10 cents for a bag at the grocery store will totally vote for it.

Stuffing your face while driving is also distracted driving, so let’s have the cops stake out drive thrus and get everyone reaching over for fries as they pull out too.
