Yeah that will be difficult to rotate. I really like the way the intake is set up on that one.

I’m thinking I might just do the fender mounted intake and not bother with the full height snorkel. My fiberglass fenders have plenty of room to set an intake on.

    Update.
Received snorkel. Too tall(kinda knew that anyway). Might work for someone without a roof rack. But I am going to chop the top down about 8" and design/3D print a new scoop for it.
Couture to the cab it's pretty damn good! The issue will be where it mount to the fender...it's really hard to test fit with hose inlet lip around it (preventing it sitting flush)
    We shall see.
Either way..I'm going to make it fit. Just because I hate the ARB version.
    PICS;
Don't mind my super high speed low drag tape. I'll switch to heavy duty duct tape for the final version.

Can you slam some soft black closed cell foam between the snorkel and fender to get a better fit or is it too far?

Thats what I was thinking about doing. Or design and 3d print a coupler to hug the fender perfect and match up to the snorkel.
But after looking at this setup.. I might be changing it up.
I have 3 ideas in the air right now:
    1) custom 3" stainless pipe curved to the windshield with snorkel head on top. Straight into the fender
2)make custom ducting and turn the fake skewp into the air intake
    3) do a short ram style snorkel poking out the fender(not going up to the roof)
Still thinking it over before I start cutting big holes...

Id go for option 2. Not a fan of cutting bodywork unless required. Asking for rust. Plus i wanna see real skewp!

I’ve read on here that the skewp is in a weird vacuum and actually a shitty place for an intake, as people have had that idea before. No idea if true, but I’d avoid that option.

The snorkel is designed like a cyclone. It helps knock the dust out of the air before it makes it to the air filter. You can read about how they work with a quick Google search. Plus, the intake into your air box is in the wheel well so it pretty much just pulling dusty air in. Snorkels work, if they didn't they wouldn't be so popular.

Edit: sorry if this info was already mentioned. I'm still working my way through the whole thread.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
It’s not a good place for ram-air but snorkel isn’t for that, only clean air. The cons for the skewp would be debris from following on a trail, snow (if that is a thing where you live) or low water run up on the hood. You would need a dump under the hood which could be routed over the passenger side before entering the stock air box.

The slim fin design snorke intakes are not even aimed into the air flow. You don’t need any ram air unless boosting or cooling.

Also, if you ever plan on going with 35" tires and have any plans of taking it off payment, you NEED a snorkel. 35's means no fender liners which exposes the open intake tubing in the passenger fender.

I get that. But I still think a 3" pipe can go straight into the stock fender with minimal modifications. Only thing I would like is a nice trim/coupler bezel so it doesn't shoved into the hole

@mesojdm, what's the largest dimension you can 3D print? Seems like you could 3D print you own fender box, and then just reuse the A-pillar tubing to connect to your custom fender box.

How much space is behind the stock fender? Can you print a narrow tube that would fit between the fender to get closer to the A-pillar before it "daylights"?

That is my entire goal; bring the intake inside the fender as far back as possible so there is minimal tubing poking out up the the a-pillar.
    My printer can do ~2ftx2ftx2ft.
I'm still debating if I even want to Frankenstein the existing snorkel I purchased or go 100% custom...

How about inside the engine bay? Can you get far enough back inside the engine bay, and then penetrate through the bay and fender in one shot?

I'd go full custom for a perfect and cohesive fit. And also because "ME-SO"...
