Research proves distracted driving to be more dangerous than drinking and driving. Currently distracted driving is resulting in more fatalities than impaired driving.

Why does no one take this seriously? Ridicule and joke all you want. When your wife or kids is killed from someone texting or using their phone while driving do we just say oh well? Shouldn’t it receive a response similar to our outrage at drunk drivers? People downplay the risk and ignore the research. If there was a gunman killing random motorists in the same numbers as distracted driving there would be a full on military response. But it is JUST a cell phone and maybe a text or two.

I am in the minority in realizing the risks. People are idiots and justify their actions while ignoring the risks (and research) just like people have been justifying their actions and ignoring the risks of drinking and driving for decades. Your rights to use a phone and multitask while driving ranks lower than the right of your victim to live.

If all of you people are done I need the soap that is inside the soapbox you have all been standing on for the last hour. I really need to wash off the blood that’s on my grill from the children, elderly people, and women pushing baby carriages that I mowed down while replying to this thread. If only I could reply through my head unit none of this would’ve happened. Alas I have to keep looking down at my phone... oops there goes another one, That toddlers parents should’ve taught him to look both ways before running out in the street to catch a ball, oh well good thing I installEd that brush guard!

I really hope blood does not stain my paint.

    Mine does.
I'd figure a guy of your obvious talents and abilities would have no issues. Weird.

I usually have a dick in my mouth which makes it difficult for the system to understand me.

    Lol, ok. That's funny.

Seriously though did you go through the menu and train it to your voice? I seriously have no complaints with it.

Although I understand ( :notsure: )your more than qualified professional stance on why you "need" to access and reply to stuff from your phone, please stay down there in AZ so we don't cross paths.

And if for some odd reasaon you don't like my comment, or those provided by the many others that have posted their concerns with your personally entitled plans to fiddle with your HU/phone while driving, then please don't post up controversial content on TW if you can't take the heat.

...on a side note, it is annoying that the 95% of the time I need to use the nav is when I'm on a road trip and my wife is in the passenger seat she can't mess with POIs or manually enter an address...and voice recognition does NOT always get the right street name, particularly with the foreign street names.

The toyota knows when the passenger seat is weighted (for airbags), it'd be nice if they enabled more entune features when a passenger is in the seat.
