Drastic times call for drastic measures. I don't have the right socket size so I had to make my own wrench.

Just go to the nearest mini golf and go kart track and get that out of your system. Build the truck. :)

I saw KO Racing brought down the price of the 3RZ turbo kit and they're using Garrett turbos now, maybe that'll scratch the itch.

Basically the reverse of what you just did, you use the press on the new joint using that cup that touched the outer ring or just one of the cup bottoms. Then use the one that can fit around the whole joint on the other side this time. Try not to mess up the rubber boots.

The ball joints came with two bags of lubricant. According to the documentation I apply one bag inside the dust cover and one on the 'lip' of the dust cover. Is that right?

@BartMaster1234 Make damn sure you are pressing it in straight, you'll oval out the hole and make it loose as all hell if you don't.

Sounds right to me, really just follow the directions on that. Should already come pre greased unless they're regreasble joints, they probably just want the extra in there for protection.

Today I scraped all that Bondo out that I didn’t mix correctly, redid it, sanded, did another layer more sanding...was too windy to prime to find the remaining imperfections. Another day. Mesh is on order from HomerTaco.

Unrelated question; do you guys see any issue replacing the 13 psi stock radiator cap with one rated at 21.3 psi? If I understand what I’m reading, it raises the temperature at which coolant boils, but it puts more pressure on the system before fluid is allowed to the overflow. Is this a bad idea or does it even matter?

So i'm at this point. I tried and tried and tried to push it in straight but it just wouldn't line up. It started straight and became slanted a little.

It's just not going in. There's no leverage for me since the knuckles are off the truck so it's even harder to drive them.

There's supposed to be a pic here, but my phone corrupted it for some reason.

There's that picture. You can see the ball joint isn't straight. It's so hard to drive it in when it's off the truck. @Speedytech7

Are you sure the top cup is leaving enough room for the joint to come all the way up it might be swiveling sideways because there is no room.

@BartMaster1234 you can give it some love taps with a hammer and brass drift to nudge it in the right direction if that cup is leaving enough room
