Wait, wait, wait......Hold the phone. You're a veteran? Oh shit, that changes everything!!! Okay guys, pack your bags we can go home now, he's safe.

Dudebro, you being a veteran is HIGHLY irrelevant, other than a poor attempt at making a bunch of civis feel like they should pipe down a bit due to your vet status. BS, unless you were an Co level officer or higher (i.e. O-3+) all your risk assessments were already done and you were either given op orders based on their assessment and possible changes tasks slightly when necessary for safety reasons in you were an NCO/JR Officer. Even IF you created some risk assessments for a patrol, training or whatever else; That still doesn't make you the almighty master of risk and it definitely doesn't mean you should totally go out and risk me and my families lives by driving like an ass.....There is simply no need to pull your vet card here bro.

Has anyone experience the Radio freezing up (volume, scan, nav, off button not working) then restarts and goes to factory settings. Happens when driving.

Brah. He spent 27 months! Veteran! Give him a break!.....but seriously...according to his profile, he was a 25B. Not sure what risk assessment that involved. His laptop catching fire? :notsure:

Oh God this just gets better and better......I'm no trigger puller by any means (35N) but still, I have high doubts his 27 months of risk management abilities within the score of ad blockers to Toughbooks are Gods gift to society.

Haha. I'm just here for entertainment. A lot of soldiers skydive, ride motorcycles, and well....are still in the Army. They aren't special cookies that get to risk other people's lives because they can't wait 5 min to read a text. Someone here didn't get enough 4856s during their time in :bikewheelie:

Exactly, we wouldn't be getting weekly safety briefs as adults if we were Godlike human impervious to unsafe endeavors

I uninstalled entune on the iPhone. Got tired of all the logins interrupting the interface.
Just use the Bluetooth connection for the hands free. That works simply and reliably.

As for the navigation I’ve found the Tacoma screen resolution inadequate to show enough detail. And its layout just doesn’t help me navigate. The iPhone 6plus screen less than half the size of the Tacoma screen shows better more useful detail using google maps app. And has a reliable voice interface requiring no training.

I wanted entune to work. It has potential in next iteration.

It's great until he's jacking with the radio or his phone, wanders across the lane and takes out someone else who wasn't being a selfish asshole.

Its hilarious for those in the know, I just feel bad that it works sometimes on unknowing civilians, and inflates the ego of those who should serve selflessly....

For the Siri part, I struggled to get Android Assistant to work by tapping the mic button on the phone while Entune was engaged. I found that using "ok google" fired up the AA and I could use it for whatever I needed.

That might work for iOS also?

It's not quite good to be selfish when you're driving a steel death trap at 85mph down the highway. Merry Christmas!

My buddy has a 2014 TRD Sport and his HU will reboot randomly and go back to whatever it was doing prior. I've not experienced this or any other issues with my HU on my 2017 as of yet.

I dont see the point of "fully featured" in dash units. If you have a smart phone from the last decade it can do everything better so why not just pick that up? Entune is garbage no doubt but I wouldnt use it even if it wasnt. All I need is bluetooth to play my music and handle my calls. Dont even need a screen for that.

The whole point of the screen and compatibility with smart phones is to make everything easier to see and read. I want to be able to read my texts, I want to be able to use my Apple Maps, I want to be able to do everything while driving, and I’m not even going to lie and say that my passenger is going to do it for me.

Interesting issue I have not heard of this before. Now that is actually something that is potentially dangerous

Saying hey Siri works, but there is so much of a delay and a time out it is kind of pointless to try to use it. I find it easier to disconnect Bluetooth and you Siri straight through the iPhone itself

I’m going to do it anyway might as well make it easy for me so it’s less distracting
