a lot of bad ass stuff
You are right...UGA had a stretch of QB struggles, after Murray, which included, Hudson Mason, the transfer in of Lambert. The next man up was supposed to be Brice Ramsey. If I remember right he and Watson were the two top QB prospects coming out of high school in GA that year. Watson went to Clemson(if I remember right, Watson wasn't even a target recuirt for UGA) and developed. Ramsey did not develop. That recruiting class with Ramsey, as highly graded as it was, was a bust. Players didn't develop, players got in trouble (then picked up by Auburn and other teams), players dropped out, and of course transfer out. Watson is a perfect example of letting in state talent go elsewhere. Smart did a great job of going after this years instate recruits and keeping them here.
This years class is awesome and I believe Smart and company will get more out the players than Richt, but one never knows, till they actually get enrolled, and suited up. I do believe great things are coming for the Dawgs, for years to come. GO DAWGS!!!

It was disappointing to see year after year of top ten recruiting classes, and the amount of talent leaving for the NFL. UGA even had the top class at least once, but the talent never equaled to what it should've been. I do believe Richt is a good coach and a great man. I was torn in the choice to let him go, but now believe it was best for all involved.

I agree 100% with what you said.

To sum up UGA under Richt its like having blue balls for 15 years straight. All the hype of his recruiting and letting the team get blown out when in fact we should of won. Sure he had a lot of 10+ wins but in 15 years only won the SEC 2 times.

Go Army!! Parents were Air Force but congrats to Army for their first 10 win season in 21 years! And they did it by throwing only 61 passes all year!

We’ve been top 10 recruiting for yeeeears. I’ve sajd it before...Richt couldn’t get the talent out of these kids. They had all the potential in the world...but potential just means you haven’t done shit yet (wise words from my high school Baseball coach).

That said, we’ve never had this kind of class. Ever. On paper, this is head and shoulders above any class ever recruited at UGA.

THere were 27 players drafted to the NFL last year from the state of Georgia. Not a single one went to UGA. Kirby is keeping those boys at home now

He didn’t do great with Kaya at Miami, honestly.

He should have won more than 2 SECC in his 15 years at the school. Too much talent wasted.

The recruting hype is even more this year. So probably less than a final 4 bowl invite the season will seem like a dud.Right?

If UGA isn't in the NC game next year I'd consider it a wasted season. The amount of talent coming, and coming back is great. Same for Clemson. The talent those 2 teams should be keeping and have gotten should make for great football.

I have this terrible feeling next year is going to be a huge disappointment for me as a Clemson fan

back to back NC games, and this year was SUPPOSED to be a rebuilding year and we weren't even expected to win the ACC (good job FSU) and def not in the playoffs for a 3rd straight year

A lot of defensive talent likely leaving this year

I think one thing that helps is a stacked offense. Defense is important but an offense really is the key. Just look at Texas. They had one of the best defenses and could only manage 6 wins because the offense couldn't get their shit together.

I actually disagree. I expect next season to be a step backward. Losing a lot on the defensive side of the ball, losing Michel and Chubb along with some other skill position guys. That means these young guys are going to step in and fill roles early. That means growing pains. In 2 years, if the young talent hasn’t been developed, this class and that season will be considered a dud.

    Buddy.

    Listen to yourself.

The way this program is going right now with all the players involved, the community, and especially the coaching staff, CLEMSON will be around (and should be) for a while.

    GO TIGERS!!!

Totally agree. We have a good mixture of youth and jr/senior leadership. I too expect a drop off next year on defense. Not too worried about the rbs, Swift will fill that role along with the others and the newbies, just not sure what we’re gonna have at the wr position. I think Godwin is a jr. Not sure about Wimms, Mecole is stepping it up. Defensively it’s gonna be hard to replace Carter, Bellamy, and Smith. But hopefully this depth Kirby has been recruiting will show and fill the holes.

    :pccoffee: Good morning @coffeesnob
I agree. NPSE has gone from one of my most watched channels to occasionally watched. Every time yensiD buys/owns a company they bring in all the social issues, if I want to watch that I’ll turn it on political channels. It’s a fact that they can televise whatever they want but I’m not wasting my time listening to their personal political views:anonymous:. At least the SEC network is still all sports...so far:fingerscrossed:

I don't agree that just having a stacked offense is going to win you championships. I think the Big 12, Oregon, and others have proven that.

Not saying that D is the only thing that will win as you have to have balance, but if you're only hoping for a shootout, you're probably not going to win national titles consistently.

I don't either but I think a D isn't as important in the NCAA as it is in the NFL. I'm not saying it's not important at all but I don't think it's AS important

The run of SEC titles in the BCS era proved that defense was what mattered.
