No, at times like this I just think of the words of one of the greatest Americans that ever lived...

“Whateva! Whateva! I do what I want!”

At no point did I ever say or even imply that anything was owed to me, you might be superimposing your own ideas on to me, nobody owes me anything except the people I work for and I have a bill for them. People join the military to better themselves and better their lives. However no one would join if there wasn’t a paycheck involved or at the very least free MRE’s. The concept of altruism is usually imposed on the poor by people in power, funny how that works. I never joined to do something nice for my country, I joined for the six-figure job with no degree after my term was complete. Which makes getting my degree a lot cheaper and easier as well thanks to the 9/11 G.I. Bill, go education!

I know the entune is bad, but when you have time, let me take you on a ride in my 13' manual Focus with Ford Sync 1ST FUCKING GENERATION!!!!!!!!!!
Ford wanted you suffocate on your own saliva because of the ultimate boredom and time it takes to do anything on that tiny ass 3.5in screen... And every option is knee deep in 9 fucking pages of selection!!!!

Its a shame the "better themselves" part didn't work for you.

I was referring to the sense of entitlement you gave off when exclaiming your vet status made you the all knowing risk management God and subsequently impervious to danger. However, I will agree that the military is an excellent way to set ones self up for a very comfortable and prosperous future, but most have some sort of patriotic tie and feeling of espirit de corps.

It’s been my experience that those who woof the most have done the least. If you want to posture and puff up to support your choices do so without throwing out the “Vet Card” when others challenge you. For the record...most of the Marines I served with for over 23 years were there because they wanted to be there. If it was all about a job they would have taken an easier road.

Biggest load of crap phrase ever uttered by anyone in command of anything.

I have no sense of entitlement other than when I spend $40,000 on a vehicle I want root access to the infotainment center in the dash that I own. I believe in Ron Swanson’s pyramid of greatness. I also believe in letting children run with scissors.

Yeah, but what Toyota should have done was put a sensor in the shotgun seat to detect a passenger. Before my friend got his own car, he drove his mom's 2007 Camry Hybrid, which had built-in navigation. If we suddenly decided we wanted to go somewhere, it was not exactly easy to pull over. The system didn't care, however. It would still work with the car in drive, but only if the car was at a complete stop.

My dad's 2008 Acura TL didn't do that. Neither does his 2013 Honda Pilot or my mom's 2013 Nissan Murano...

I think the feature is rather obnoxious...

Hopefully a telephone pole though. I'm all for natural selection taking its course, but I don't wish harm on anyone for his poor judgment.

PS: There are 41 people on this thread now watching this guy make a fool out of himself.

Something must be happening in this thread. Brb gonna read

ETA something something entitlement because service. Yawn. What else is new. I once read here about a guy who believed he could treat the flag any way he wanted because he earned it by serving.

I read To Hell and Back, Meat Loaf's autobiography, when I was a teenager (as in Bat Out of Hell). One time when Meat Loaf was a teenager, he got distracted by a young woman's breasts while driving his Impala (Mr. Aday was born in 1947 so this was sometime after 1963-1964, when the singer would have gotten his driver's license). I think he rear-ended somebody and bonked his head on the under-dash air-conditioner (Meat Loaf grew up in Texas, where air-conditioning is obligatory, so his car had it; This was also the 1960s, when automotive A/C hadn't been fully streamlined), then got his head stuck in the deep-dish steering wheel. He ended up with a concussion...
