Yea I’m praying for you guys there man it’s really sad seeing this year in and year out there. In an all serious note I hope they get it out soon I hate seeing people lose their homes.

I have to laugh. We go through this stuff all of the time. I got read the riot act this summer when I crossed the border into Detroit. I had moved a couple of maple “slices” to a friends place with live bark edge a few days before. Some bark came loose and was in the bed of the truck. Maybe 4” long by 3” wide. US border agent flipped out. You can’t import that into the USA!! I said it’s only maple not ash or any of the other restricted species (we have emerald ash borer among other invasive pests so some woods can’t be transported domestically or otherwise.) If it was cut maple lumber that would be ok but this little broken off price of bark is considered live wood and is banned. He had to remove all traces and like I said completely lost his mind.

My wife got pulled into the “garage” at the border once and when they turned on the lights she had a dozen officers in riot gear and assault rifles around her car. She forgot she had a couple of jars of home made jam from her mom in the trunk. They dumped it out looking for heroin or other drugs.

Sucks you haven’t got your gift and I hope it gets sorted. I don’t eat lobster unless I am at my Aunts south of Boston. We wait for the boat to come in literally and it is in our pot no more than 2 hours after it hits the dock.

 

Used to get check all the time coming through the Niagara Falls boarder. But the weed in the pringles can never failed. We would watch them search the car and we would be eating the pringles in the cube lol. Then 9/11 made that nearly impossible.

 

You have a point there! I live only 15 minutes from the Patriots stadium in Foxboro and an hour away from Boston. Come when the Yankees are playing in Boston and we'll go to a game together (if we could ever score tickets )

 

I always found Queenston / Lewiston (10 minutes from Niagara) crossing the easiest and friendliest. It was there my wife got into the jam incident however.
