It isn't jewelery. Unless you don't drill through your fender.

They're beautiful in deep muddy water. On the street they're... interesting.

Good for driving on dusty roads.
As for looks, just dont do a crap job of an install and use a well designed product. Dont build something from parts you get at home depot.

There’s no way I’d get one for looks. For purpose, sure.

Doesn't matter what gen, doesn't matter what brand of vehicle... if you have a snorkle because you use your truck for what it was built to do then it looks bad ass. If you have chrome 24" rims, low pro mudders covered in tire shine and a spacer lift then it just adds to the poser look you already had. Please use your truck for what it was built for.:DIMG_20171217_145214901_HDR.jpg

I think its ugly and looks like a black elephants trunk on my fender but I didnt get it for looks. I have driven through some heavy dusty areas in Mojave desert and my air filter was spotless. You get clean, constant cold air. Just gotta remember your truck is not a submarine.

IMO on a stock truck they look out of place. But I get the function>form.
My biggest gripe is the only available model(ARB) looks hideous. If there was a more streamlined and low profile snorkel I think it would change people's mind.

Psh. I think they look pretty rad, but I like the whole rugged utilitarian aesthetic. Even the ARB on third gens.

Not what they're built to do... that's why you have to build them to do "IT" yourself. But yes, your point is 100% valid.

I know their function, but they are god awful looking on the truck. Unless you like to look like you’re hauling a leaf blower on your hood. The only thing that can make a Tacoma look worse is a camper shell. (My opinion)

    I agree.
OP, if all you are interested in one for is looks, scan around looking at trucks that have them. If you like it, get one. If you dont like it, dont. If you use the truck regularly in areas where you might end up in a situation where your inlet could end up sucking in water, and you like the look, get one. If you use your truck in areas that regularly end up causing you to knock the dust out of your air filter, get one.

I dont mall crawl. Thats too high end. I Walmart crawl.

One thing to consider with the Tacoma Snorkel, is it could look worse than it does. Maybe that’s a “plus”.

Point taken. I consider my truck as having been a joint build effort between Toyota and myself. Phase 1 and phase 2. But even a stock Tacoma was built to be offroad capable by Toyota. Just not as capable as some of us need.;)
