Awesome. Yes, it's definitely noticable. Especially down low (from like 1-2k rpm). The Tooter also showed a significant increase in that range, so the total package is probably pretty sweet. A new muffler is also on my list, still searching though.

There's actually a topic on that also, I would tag you in it but I don't know how yet. Just search 4 banger sound clips. ;)

Well the combo of the intake, headers, spacer & exhaust lowers the torque band to bout 2-2.5k rpms from the 3.5-4k rpms it is @ stock. Or something like that. That's why I did those yo things. Exhaust sounds good just w/ headers & intake. I haven't found anything I like yet & don't wanna hack apart my exhaust until I know. Magnaflow/do lowmaster sound yo ricey yo me. Lol

Well guys it looks like as soon as my knee gets fixed I may be moving to Australia flying a chopper for a giant ranch down there doing wildlife control. Not sure yet, playing it by ear. It will definitely put a damper on our intake spacers if I go

Doesn’t matter. Living in Australia is 100% cooler than any intake spacer

Just an update. I have a reliable machinest who says this part will be no problem to make. We are planning on sitting down and discussing further details next week. I will keep everyone posted.

    A thing or two...
If you have a guy with a laser scanner, just pull off your intake and have the mounting flange scanned.

Yep, me too after the first of the year, but since I am leaving I might let tjhall36 go for it.

On another note I have been looking at 2 door 79 series utes for sale down there. A 10 year old beat up one kitted out with arb is still $30k. But they have front and rear lockers and a snorkel from the factory :yay:

I ain't really sure. They have 2trfe powered hiluxs' down there, but different frame, suspension, and gearing. But the outfitter i am going down there with used to work for arb and still tests for them on his nissan gu patrol , so support actually might not be an issue if I decide to take it. From what I have seen everyone puts 35 inches tyres on everything, and they fit with a modest 3 inch lift and still plenty of power cause its all diesel. For me to put 35s and pull them takes all manner of mods.

After giving others a chance to respond, one person said it is possible and nothing needs to be changed while another says lines and vacuums need to be extended. I wouldn't be interested in something that required such extensive modification just to put a spacer in.... which is again why I'm asking for maybe a 1" version?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you know our factory intake box serves as a CAI if you remove the secondary filter, and the wheel well filter.....

on another note, is that thing CARB legal for CA?

Your fine. Basically I want the same results as Tooter, based on his dyno info. And this was the intake he installed. I didn't remove my intake from the fender, but the secondary filter was previously removed.

I'm just basing this info off Tooters install info and the folks who have already installed the spacer. The comment your quoting is not from someone who has actually installed a spacer if I'm correct.

On the 1" spacer, I can ask when I meet to discuss making the spacer. I was actually considering testing out a 2.5" spacer if it will fit.

I contemplated that intake for a long time. In the end I decided against it, pulling warm air in winter would be better for mileage but in summer it can get to 105* here so I definitely didn’t want air coming from the engine bay.

I hear ya, and I agree. The filter is actually right @ the fender opening from the original intake. So I'm thinking it's still getting a good amount of air from the hole in the fender.
