What floor jack height is needed

    I have a 1995 Ext Cab 4x4 V6 (stock suspension) that have 31/10.5/15 tires. I'm looking for a hydraulic floor jack that I can keep in the cabin of the truck, but I do not know what height lift of the jack that I would need to safely change the tire if needed (spare is 31/10.5/15). Any pointers? Thanks

    Dakar torsion bars
    I have a 28 inch floor jack in the shop but i think it is too heavy n bulky to carry around. I replace the stock jack with a bottle jack that i keep under the back seat. Along with a 6x6 n a 2x6 if needed extra hught.

    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    The question is where you'll be able to put the jack cup when that time comes. IE where you are stopped when the change is needed.

    If you jack at the frame, you'll need the radius of the wheel/tire + the suspension full droop.

    If you can jack under the LCA or rear axle, you only need the radius.

    Those are both flat parking lot numbers. Not 'in a field' numbers.

    Either way, a floor jack is gonna be really big to tote around.

    This one will do all you need and you won't blow a grape moving it around. You do know a floor jack is not the first choice when it comes to a jack that you will keep in the vehicle?

    A tire is a tire as far as that kit goes. Years ago I punched a BIG hole in one of my tires. I ended up cramming a half dozen of those into the hole. It got me off the mountain and somewhere level enough I could get it in the air for a swap. We had to refill the tire a few times but it slowed the leak down enough to work.

    You would be surprised. Most of the clubs I offroaded with, a majority of the people had one with them.

    As for op, grab a tape measure.

    For the most part I agree. The plugs work great. The only time they are hard to use is when you have 10"ply tire to plug. You can't push the plug in because the tires are so stiff. Our P rated tires they work great on.

    Regardless. 18" lift is the tallest before you go commercial. Those are heavy AF.
