Favorite Whiskey?

Haven't tried it yet and figured it was a good idea to buy small bottles just in case. Read good things about it tho'.

 

I like it. Try the caskmates. Very nice imo.

 

Anybody try this one it’s called Greenspot it’s a single pot Irish whiskey. Got a bottle gifted to me and it’s pretty good

 

The caskmate Jameson is good I like that one and black barrel.

 

Bought a fifth of Weller last night. It was ok. Not a ton of character so it’ll make a good mixer.

 

Just tried this last night, really good stuff.

 

Yeah it is incredible with a single ice cube.

Definitely my current favorite.

 

I had it a few weeks ago around thanksgiving. Its pretty good.

 

Yup, me and some friends were pretty surprised how good it went down.

 

Got my name drawn in a lottery at a local liquor store today. Looked what I had the privilege of purchasing!

 

That's a good inexpensive whiskey. It finishes quick but it's really enjoyable to drink.

Got a couple nips and bottle of basil Hayden dark rye for as my one gift to open on Christmas Eve from my wife

 

BULLEIT Bourbon is my fallback.

 

Same here, although I like the rye a little bit more. Both still very good in my opinion

I haven't had a Japanese whisky that I haven't at least "liked", yet. A good reasonably priced one to start with is Nikka Coffey Grain. Pretty cool story behind the use of Coffey stills imported from Scotland back in the 60s and a pleasant drink. Should be able to get it for $60 or so and drinks like an ultra clean bourbon.

The Yamazaki stuff gets all of the press and is perhaps slightly overpriced because of it, but it is definitely good.

 

Judging by the label, I'm guessing that is the same folks that make Straight Edge? How is the Slaughter House? I'm really liking what can be had with an American whiskey that doesn't feel confined to the strict rules of bourbon (though bourbon is still my favorite). Barrell Whiskey is one such example. Little Book another. Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the Slaughter House.
