I ordered straight from them. I think on the OME site they where about $100 cheaper for the complete lift kit I bought.

I might just try this next. My issue is I can't get enough leverage since the knuckles are off the truck - I'm basically using one foot to hold the little stand I made while Simultaneously trying to turn the wrench. Tried heating up the ball joint too, but all that did was create some kind of toxic fumes from the burning 20 year old grease and rubber.

That sounds like a better idea than what I've been trying. If I can't get it out after clamping it with a vice I'll try this. It was much easier to get the broken ball joint out.

Alright, let's try this again. This time I don't have to sumo wrestle the ghetto wood mount I made.

My dad actually has a hydraulic press here, but surprise surprise it is broke.

It's negative 4F outside and my garage is no warmer so the Tacoma is on the charger at 2 amps. It's going to be cold as frig for the next two weeks and I don't want the battery to go to shit since I have not driven it since November

If it was 47F I'd be outside in shorts and a sweater. I can't wait to come back to Cal next month for vacation. I can't wait to move back

Took my truck fishing, not the biggest sand bass but much better than the stinky skunk.

That's no fun! That's like buying an assembled Lego set.

Truck has a lot of sentimental value to me actually, haha. I grew up with it. My dad got it new from his company in 1997.

Merry Christmas! Removed the starter in prep for contact and plunger replacement. Hope I am able to find them local tomorrow. Starter was surprising easy to remove out through the wheel well. Worst part was getting the one wire connector apart. :annoyed:

Thank you for reminding me I have this laying around in WA still, need to bring it back with me and get it done. Bought the parts more than a year ago when it stuck a couple times.

Cleaned the throttle body today; along with the IAC and MAF. Gonna throw some Lucas Fuel Treatment in the tank next fill up and cross my fingers that I re-gain some lost pep and MPG. I used 91 octane on the last couple of tanks and only saw about 240 miles to the tank when the light was completely lit. No bueno. I think I'll bring it back down to the regular (87?) and see what's up.

Do you folks use full synthetic? Got about 150k on this engine and I believe it's always had the conventional treatment. Think it's worth the extra $$ to switch up now? Or should i just roll with it?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I wonder if the people who make these comments understand how completely and totally, annoyingly dumb and useless the comment is.

YOU CAN NOT SELL A 1ST GEN TACOMA AND THEN JUST GO BUY A 4X4 TACOMA FOR LESS THAN YOU CAN DO THE SWAP.

    ¿Comprende?

Then you factor in sentementality with your truck, the amount of work you have in it that you wont get back in selling... and then the swap is a no brainer.

My reasoning for doing the swap is... I've owned the truck for 13 years, my kids grew up riding around in the truck. The truck is paid off (and has been for a long time) and I like it that way. My truck has over 260,000 miles on it. I'm sure @BartMaster1234 reasoning is fairly similar to my reasoning.

Tell me how I'm going to sell my Tacoma and turn around and buy a 1st gen Double Cab, V6, Auto for less than I sold my Pre-runner for... I'll wait... otherwise, just save it.

Every single time a Pre to 4x conversion comes up, we get a bunch of wise guys with the (for lack of a better term) idiotic comment of "sell it and buy a new one."

Is the swap a pain in the ass? Sure it is. Are there unforseen things that come up? Absolutely. But there are some that actually like to wrench on their trucks

That's cool. Just thought you were on a tight budget for the most part.

Not to mention my comment was mostly in jest. I like watching these stories/projects unfold.
