So glad u and the family made it out okay. Trucks can b replaced. Sounds like it was a crappy situation and just being able to retell the story is a blessing. Merry Christmas to u and your family!

Thanks for the break down. By the sounds of it there really wasn't much you could do to avoid any of it. Now that you have had time to replay it in your mind over and over would you have done anything differently? I was in a motorcycle accident about two years ago which resulted in broken ribs. I played that accident over and over in my mind but came to the conclusion there was nothing I could have done to prevent it.

It a blessing everyone is ok.
Reminder to file a separate claim for diminished value on your truck. Again, this will be a separate insurance claim

Yes, same here. The only thing I could’ve done was opt to stay off the highway until they had time to plow, to treat it. The reality is, there’s always going to be people with either poor judgement, or poor driving skills on the road during snow storms. I’m 53 years old, and have a perfect driving record (with the exception of a few speeding tickets) , I’ve been fortunate to never have been involved in anything like this. I hold a CDL, and my career depends on safe driving habits. Smith driving system guy here...

Glad you and your family are ok! Some accidents are unavoidable, no matter what you do.
It’s great to see how well your Taco protected everyone! Do you think that your pup would have suffered injury had you no belted her in? I ask because I like to travel with my German Shepherd boy with nothing but a pet hammock to keep him from getting tossed onto the rear floorboards.

I think she may have been injured without it. Her tether is like a leash with a male seat belt connection. She had about “18 of lead. Loose things can become projectiles. Our water bottles, and two cups of coffee went flying...

Your truck is bleeding... I think your hood is good for a swap. You should post it up for trade.

Good to hear every one made it out ok.

    But this came to mind.....

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.
