Will tire shops like Schwab mount tires with such little tread left?

They'll do it however, when it gets down much lower it becomes a liability issue and they start balking.

Don't think they'd care if you're paying them to mount them up. They still have a lot of life in them and wear really well.

First of all go beavs! Was just at the crooked river this last weekend. Place is a ghost town and you would have the run of the place. Nice campsites and they have bathrooms. Then you could go hit some of the trails between there and bend.

Hey guys, new to TW. I finally have my first taco!. I bought a MGM 2012 TRD Off road, has a 6" lift and ready to do more! can't wait to start modifying it. And get out and about. Are there any good trails nearby around town to go driving? It'll be nice to pick halls brains for something's and go driving.

Welcome Hazarded, prepare to spend (more) money. There are loads of trails in the area. Some more hazardous than others. How bad do you wanna beat up your new ride? Since it hasn't snowed all that much, tomorrow I'm snow shoeing the Edison Butte area to see if it's too dangerously deep to get trucks out there. That's a fun area in the summer (when there's no fires).
Read the previous 88 pages (hahaha) and stand by for more details from others.
Glad to have you on board.

Probably on a crappy lift. I like your rig anyway. Saw you driving around the other day. Still looking to add sliders and skids once the funds come around

I usually blame my passenger (dog) when I honk.

I saw that one to, no that isn't mine. That was a sport. I actually boughtvmine back in June through specialty motorsports. The 6in" lift is a shitty one though. Lol that's one thing I wanted to pick yalls brains on. I've been looking at replacing it with a 6" full coilover suspension from BDS. I wanted to know if any of y'all have that setup and how you like it? Or what are your recommendations that I can look into?

@hazarded Can't offer any 6" lift advice but in regards to your first question, you can drive in literally any direction and find trail around here. I usually go west into the hills or up to the Mt. Washington/TFJ area. There's plenty of stuff out east in the desert as well. I'd recommend hoping on FS roads off Skyliner or China Hat and start exploring, go a little further each time and just learn the roads. Be mindful of closure signs in the heavily trafficked areas, don't be the ass who disregards them and ruins multi-use trail for everyone else. Oh, and try not to get too stuck by yourself in the winter. Enjoy the new truck man!

Is "dont" good advice for a 6 in lift?? Haha jk your truck and your money. I went with the ome kit all the way around with spc ucas. Enjoyed it so far!

Edit: liked what my buddy said. I was gonna throw bilsteins into the mix which tons of people do, but he sold me when he said the ome kit is made to run as a package deal. If that makes sense. So whatever you choose I'd recommend doing it all the way around

Can't speak for 2nd gens but, on 1st gens to do 6"requires a lot of new stuff along with a body lift (no fan here) with an IFS. If you have blocks on you lift, get rid of them.
PERSONALLY, I think 3-4"suspension lift with new uca's along with 33-4" tires very adequate. Oh, sliders! With all this going on, if you have an automatic you may want to consider regearing. (Whew)
Remember that any lift you buy is gonna cost you. Get quality: ICON, OME, KING, TOYTEC.

    my .o2.

Yep, meant to say something about that. Forgot. I talked to the minisnowcat driver on Tuesday when I hiked the trial.
Not much snow out there, hope it doesn't end up being one of those years.
