Falken Wildpeak at3w 265/75 R16

Merry Christmas to me! Loving the new tires, but I got about 15mpg on the way into work today...

Had these tires in a 10ply, rough ride but super reliable in all weather. Ended up changing out to Dura Trac C rating. Better ride and better gas mileage. Enjoy the Wildpeaks!

 

Definitely a stiffer ride than before, which I'm okay with, but I'm a little concerned about the mpg.

I've had these same tires for about 2k now. Great ride on the highway and wet weather. 35 pi all around. I do notice that mpg is less, but if I drive with a lighter foot I can get near the same as with the previous 265/70/16 P rated stockers.Very happy with them.

 

Did you get the E or the SL ?

Looks good. That is the same tire I am going with on the same SR5 wheels as yours. Going LT-E load rating 265/75/16. I will be using them for camping/off-roading etc. I have Nitto Terra Grappler G2 265/70/17 P rated for daily driving, I couldn’t stand the decrease in MPGs from an E load tire. Hows the ride?

I didn’t know they made them in C load. I think the weight for E load is 59lbs in 265/75/16 and 46 for SL-P.

 

Its a bit stiffer than the stock Firestones, but handles our Missouri potholes really well. Haven't had a chance to take em offroad yet.

 

I've put about 6k on my set of Wildpeaks and they have been great all around. I have 265/65R17 XL on some Fuel Mavericks. I was getting 22ish MPG on stock wheels for my 85mi RT for work, but thankfully have still been able to hit 20.7-21MPG with this set up. The ride is quieter and smoother than I expected too..

 

Mine are an E.

 

I went with the SL's they are a lot lighter / softer ... I just hope they look just as good!

I'm sorry, I miss informed. They are the "SL" load not "C" load. They do not make them in "C" in the size 265/75/16. The SL's are much quieter/softer/lighter than the Es (11lbs per tire). The only advantace to the E's is they far exceed the tow ratings of the SLs/truck.

You might be in luck. Supposed to get these put on today but Im kinda second guessing the size I went with. Im thinking I should go ahead and go with 285s and do the CMC.

Btw, weight for the Es is at 55lbs per tire. Weight for the SLs is at 44lbs per tire.

I didn't realize that was the only thing preventing me from going with 285s. Even still, these guys are a huge improvement over stock. I may lift a few inches in the meantime and upgrade to 285s in 20-30k.

 

I too picked up these tires for Christmas, as well as some new wheels. They will be mounted up tomorrow and will post some pics.

Switched out stock Goodyears at 985 miles to Wildpeak AT3 265/75-16 SL. They’re great in snow/ice mix with 300 miles so far. Quiet and smooth on dry roads.

I installed four Bilstein 5100s, .65 inch front, 1/2 inch spacer under rear axle, so just 1 inch total lift along with new tires.

I liked the soft, compliant stock ride but not the body roll in curves.
The new shocks transformed the vehicle to a stable and flatter ride on curvy roads with just a slightly firmer ride that is still soft and smooth over large speed bumps.

 

Yes, CMC and quite a bit of triming.

I wanted to see them in person and go from there. I have seen 265/75/16s in person and they looked good. So we shall see if I keep them or do 285s but the 285s open a figurative can of worms.
