    I don't think you'll be able to keep it much longer either way - I thought they were doing away with green plates all together with the new inspection updates...

    Don't quote me on that though... I'm still trying to figure out how to register an old rusty Datsun in MA with out spending a fortune on body work...

    My understanding is that it's still up to the discretion of the inspector but the registry is leaning pretty hard on them.

    My Mom lost her all number green plate in good shape a few years ago and is still salty about it.
