    No, I had them sandblasted, then linex was applied with the ultra or premium, whichever doesn't fade, I can't remember.

    This also very helpful for me since I’m short I need a step and also love the functionality of slider that I can also use as steps to put my boys in the car

    OP if you are wondering about the texture on Mobtown sliders it’s the best I have used. I have had sliders on other trucks, tired everything from bedliners, skate board tape, painting over diy epoxy with texture added. I can tell you that Mobtown textured powdercoat is awesome. Bedliner was good but was still slippery at times. The cheaper diy bedliner was grippy but too much texture. Skateboard tape if it snags your clothes is bad. Epoxy, no good.

    Just measured a set of ours on a truck.

    They stick off the outer lip of the door sill by 4-1/4" and 1-3/4" away from the handle on the door.

    Is that 4-1/4" from the sill to the inside of the tube?

    Correct, sorry. Those dimensions are to the outside edge of the tube.

    I got Mobtown's cut at 0* because I wanted sliders and momma wanted steps. I got the sliders with fill plates so that a kid, dog, or something didn't step through and break a leg. And, I ordered them powder coated because I didn't want to deal with the hassle once they arrived.
    I'm happy with all of the choices. As a slider / step compromise I'd say that they are about 70% slider and 30% step. (But as a slider they're only about 80% as good as their regular sliders because they're cut at 0* vice 20*)
    The fill plates are great, make for worry free footing and also protect the rockers from stone chips. Getting Mobtown's powder coat was a good choice too as the level of non-skid is perfect, not to smooth and not too rough.
    Mom buys that they are steps and I know that they will protect the body from a drop off and allow me to hi lift from them. (I started to say jack off them). I said that they are only about 30% step because a.) even at 0* they don't really stick out that far and b.) as previously stated, they are pretty much at floor height. I do try to use them getting out of the truck so that I'm not sliding over the seat bolster every time but, I normally step around them getting in to the truck.
    Here's a picture of me stepping into and a picture of me stepping out of the truck to give an idea of how much "purchase" you get with your foot getting in and out. Notice how I'm only able to get my heel on the slider while getting out.
    Hope this helps.

    Hefty Fab Rock Sliders
    I would do your research before relying on the N-Fab "sliders" with a removable step to be used as sliders. The design is really cool, but they don't mount to the frame like true sliders, they mount to the underside of the cab like factory step bars. I agree that they would work better as steps than most of the sliders out there, but they won't function as rock sliders. ITs too bad one of the other slider manufacturers doesn't make a true slider with that removable drop step design.

    @NewWheeler,

    Really appreciate the pics. You must be over a curb, or it's a photo illusion; looks like you have your foot on the slider and concrete at the same time. It's a big conundrum.... keep them tight and you only have a bit of heel on the step but less chance of dragging if you opt out of using the step. Extend them farther, and you have more stability when using them but greater chance of dragging when you opt out.

    I'd probably do as you did and go with zero incline, but maybe ask them for another inch on the extension. Shouldn't be an issue for them.

    It does look like that but it's an optical illusion. I'm parked in my driveway and its 14 or so inches to the ground. ( Whatever stock frame height is).

    I went with RCI for a slider with step. Picked them up without shipping. Lots of good choices out there and this was my first install. I think the mobtowns look stronger. I like that mobtown shows a picture of all the hardware you get. For my install, I went to the hardware store several times. Some parts on the instruction list seemed to be missing, and I decided to just upgrade everything to 1/2 and 3/8 bolts all grade 8 and thicker washers, then put a bolt in every damn hole I could find. More than what was given with the 7/16 bolts I got from RCI. I saw that after the install, the top of the sliders sits very tight. There’s only 1/4 to 1/8 inch clearance btw. the top of the slider and the pinch weld along the rocker panel on the body. Probably not an issue but I don’t know? Seems like bit more cushion would be better. Overall I like them though. Good fit/finish. I like the tread pattern placement. I like the kickout. Good for what I need. Not going to a rock garden anytime soon but want to venture deeper into fire roads! And, get my little girl into the back seat day to day.F4A85E87-7190-4678-801C-59A55EC9EC6A.jpg DF375F3D-CD46-48A0-BCA7-2FF845168A3F.jpg 2393E531-2128-4C9E-976F-E98B6A0307EB.jpg 2A6739C7-5E1C-4738-B6F4-5663D1158A78.jpg
