What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The black hole tacoma used its gravitational pull on the old wallet again today. Picked up my new tag at the New Bern Toyota Dealership in NC and a bill for vehicle property tax.

 

I ended up installing LED lights for all my interior lights. I still need to get around to changing out all the halogen lights on the exterior but that is for another day. I read that you shouldn't just drop in LED lights into the headlight so I need to do more research before I pull the trigger on that.

I saw the premium audio upgrade thread and snagged these Kicker tweeters from the local Subaru dealership. Install was around 30 minutes and was definitely worth it. I think I'll head to the local BestBuy and see if the price for front and rear door speakers is worth it. I know Crutchfield would be the better route, but I am impatient and only have a few more days left of block leave.

Just finished installing one layer of 80 mil sound deadening, and a layer of 157 mil Heat Insulation To The inside of the rear cabin. Also did the tweeter upgrade this past week and both complement each other. Awesome sounding stock HU. Added a rear window security bar and getting started on the tailgate letters from Rich.

 

So I got new wheels recently (Level 8 MK6) with -10 offset. When I did, I noticed that the right rear wheel/tire stuck out from the fender about an inch more than the left. When in for my 10k service today, I asked about it thinking my rear axel was off-center (maybe loose u-joint). The service Manager said all Tundras and Tacomas are engineered this way. Something about traction and how roads are grated outward. So while waiting on service, I looked on the lot....sure enough they are!

 

Xmas presents installed. Finally got some black lugs to complete the wheels and a new gun magnet for more comfort while driving.

 

so you can make 5 of them that don't do the same thing as the one i and a few other people purchased (that have coin holders and 2 compartments)..............?

OK so add a coin holder. Sorry I just don't carry change. Just a knife, mini flashlight and phone. I might have change twice a year. I get it though.

 

Added a snugtop camper shell and recently put on the trd pro grill... that’s about it nothing major

Hey does anyone know if a level kit off my 08 would fit onto my 17? it looks identical but not sure if it has changed alittle to where it won’t fit

I know the same stock Monroe brand struts are listed for 2005-2017 Tacomas as well as FJ Cruisers and 4runners.

That makes me think that would work though I am no lift expert. I say look at your brand kit for a 17. If it is the same part number then not an issue.

I was thinking about the pistola thing the other day. Had my G19 in an IWB holster that would have been a beyotch to draw while seated the truck with my busted shoulder.

Added new RAV4 blindspot mirror and @mesojdm tinted led mirror signals

 

It’s quite strong as well! Has no trouble holding my g26. Where I mounted it is really the only option I found since it needs a good flat area but it works perfectly for me. “Iron Mount” on Amazon.
