I cut the provisions for the Tundra brakes onto my manual hub steering knuckles as I was working on them. I have them on my truck currently. It's really a lot simpler to just buy the steering knuckles with the manual hubs already pressed into it unless you have ABS. Changing the backing shield is no easy feat, you have to remove the whole hub which is a pain.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I'm really not worried about pressing out the old hubs. My plan is to install new Aisin manual lockers on whatever steering knuckles I use. And I'm hoping the Tundra/Sequoia knuckles will work so they are already with the backing plates when I buy them.

I'll cut the backing plates on the knuckles I currently have on the truck to run the Tundra brakes till I do the swap. I'd just like to have the final product (post 4x4) to have non cut backing plates.

I would buy aftermarket brake lines like the one from LC Engineering. You can't use the stock Tacoma like unless you drill out the banjo bolt. Tundras don't use banjos they use a hardline with a flare end

Probably going use the extended Front and Rear lines from Wheelers or All Pro Offroad.

I think I've read that those will fix the banjo bolt situation.

Or you can just use the hardline. Much easier.

I like the LCE kit because it is identical to the Tundra setup. The Tundra/Sequioa use a soft brake line followed by a hard brake line to the caliper.

The LCE kit says it is for swaping Tacoma to S13WE calipers, are the 13WL calipers the same? I'll be using the (larger) 13WL calipers. Also does the LCE kit extend the brake lines, or just replace them?

Oh... duh... I should have kept reading. They do extend the lines. 3 or 6 inches.

I just messaged LCE asking if this kit will work with 13WL calipers... the answer was

Exactly the same. I'm running them on my truck. The S13WE is just smaller than the 13WL - the brake lines are still the same. I used them no problem I don't know why they're advertising them for S13WE.

Yup I’m also running 13WL and just utilized the stock hardlines without any issues. Cut the dust covers and called it a day.

The 13WL and S13WE are identical brake line wise, the difference is the piston size and physical size. They both used the same brake lines and hard brake lines with the same flared fitting

I don't know if that Tundra knuckle will swap, but no need. I have 13wl brakes on my 00' 4runner (so worth it) just trimmed dust shield. I also have slotted rotors on my 96 LT Tacoma (3 sizes smaller than 13wl, lighter truck tho) and it stops great! Good pads will go along way, IMO make what you have work.
