that is just flat nice. Any rubbing? Got an 18 hoping going to be in next 6 weeks. I keep going back and forth on lift. I commute 40 miles each way daily all hyw to work. Speed is 65 to 70. Then around 250 miles on weekends with mix 70% hyw. Sure going back and forth on which set up I want. seems if I went this route the amp step would be in play to get wife in and out . She has rebuilt shoulder and at 54 would need useable step in. How does it ride

Ridge grapplers are lighter by about 5 pounds it seems for the same tire size (285/70/17). My ridge grapplers are extremely quiet for the type of tire they are. No MT "whine" on the freeway, and just a tad bit more road noise over OEM. Was out in the snow the other day and they did great as well.

    Thanks.
35”s will rub. I’ve trimmed. I’ve heat gunned. I’ve ordered plates for the cab mount chop which will likely get done next week.

This is my fun truck. The wife has a new MDX. If I was commuting more I’d gone with a Icon setup and not a drop bracket lift. However I’ve traveled all over VA and MD with this in the past 5 weeks. The wheel and tire combo is heavy and it’s noticeable. Not so noticeable that it’s a hindrance but I’ve not seen 6th gear since the tires were installed. The SSP on Map #2 runs 5th gear through 80mph and I’ve had it up to 90mph but you gotta keep your foot in it to sustain that velocity.

Rides quite well for a lifted rig on 12ply F-rated tires. If I were to do it again I wouldn’t have cheaped out and I would have gone Stage 2 for the coilovers. However I may add Fox or Icon for the 6” lift soon. Time will tell.

I'm almost in the same boat as you. I commute a little more, so I have an Icon set up. Wife has the RDX but we're thinking about getting an MDX as we have 2 kids now instead of 1. How's it drive compared to the RDX? The RDX still feels a little sporty and zippy, especially compared to the truck.

The SH-AWD in the MDX blows away the handling aspects of the RDX. Plus it's wider than the RDX and feels very stable. I also like the Dynamic Modes in the MDX allowing for a light weight steering feel and a lazier throttle input and easy trans shifting in Comfort or heavy weighted, crisp shifting, sensitive throttle in Sport (which also directs more torque to outside wheels during cornering). Of course Normal is slotted between 'em and I never use it.
Comfort when on the hwy and I can see 30-32mpg around 60-65mph. 28mpg above 70mph.

I think the RDX is a smidge faster, but the MDX feels quicker if that makes sense.

EDIT: I've driven a hand full of RDX, and almost bought one over the MDX. My mother has a 17 RDX as well. So I've had plenty of seat time when comparing the two.

Thanks for the heads up. I know they just did the refresh of the MDX, but I think we'll probably wait until the next generation MDX since the next generation RDX is about to reveal soon. Will have to test drive it, but definitely will need a bigger car soon and the MDX fits the bill.

If you don’t need to tow anything then give the Sport Hybrid a fair look. It’s quicker and gets about 26-28mpg anywhere anytime. Sadly, no towing or hitch mounted racks for it though.

Yeah, any towing will be done with the truck. Will give it a whirl when the time comes! Thanks for the input.

I just got a set of 285/70r17 c load ridge grapplers, I haven’t mounted them yet. Unmounted they stand right at 32”, i assume and hope they get a little larger when mounted and inflated. The specs are 32.7 in diameter and i’ve Seen multiple post with them mounted and on the vehicle at 32”-32.25”. I want a tire that is around 32” so can anyone assure me of this issue? Thanks

Nice looking rig! Are you running spacers? Do you know what the tire height measures?
