There was one time I remember being in 4hi, aired down to around 16-18psi, open diff, and "2nd" gear, but no matter how I drove-up (i.e. different lines/paths), I just started losing grip and spinning the tires as I got closer and closer to the top. :ballchain: I only made it out that particular time by gunning up the hill. This was on a separate solo run and wanted to see what would happen?

There's another spot I know, near the peak, on the trail, that has SUPER loose dirt and potholes/steps. Roughly 50yds of it for that particular spot.

LOL, I'd like to see that now with that hill? You'll bottom out as you head towards it. Probably smash your whole front-end as you religiously beat the shi* out of it as you're going up.

LMAO!!! "Get Tom to do it!!!" God I LOVE that story!!!:cheers:

Now the TJ story is one of my favorites.

Now that I think of it, you probably COULD still make it up that hill. :burnrubber: LMFAO!!!:goingcrazy::laughing::laugh::rofl:

I know the spot... pretty much the last leg of the climb. Rocky, loose, pot holed... my buddy in his XJ has it in 4wd and had to make a second go because he tried to creep up it and started to spin in the holes. Back down & a little pedal, no prob. I did it 2wd open just to see what it was about, but 35” Muds and I hug the right side & ride the tops of the holes. That section coming back out of the veiw spot is pretty F’ed, I locked up the rear just so I didn’t have to hammer through it. Prob jam up that open with a good line... All in all I’d still give it an easy rating with a couple of challenges that a good Line and driver skill can get through. Did it twice in one week. My first time Up I did it solo to recon it for some 2wd buddies that were interested hence the open diff run.

Are you guys really arguing how hard/easy Santiago is? It’s a fire road that a group of 2wd guys did a few weeks ago. I think they had an easier time there than the holy Jim run. They both are fire roads and I’ve seen sedans on both

I know someone who got stuck there and needed a tug. In his defense the rut was deep and he had bald tires. His name rhymes with “PrickStuffin”

HAHAHA, I know it's a fire road man?! I've been up and down a few times now. I'm talking about the little hill at the top. Most people that haven't been don't know about it.

Either way, it is a pretty interesting spot and can be challenging, especially with 2wd open diff. Beating the underneath of ones truck, not everyone is into if they can avoid it and unnecessarily. It will do a number on your rear tires as well due to spinning. Like @ODNAREM Ron said, it will take chunks outta your tire.

LMAO!!! You heard right. I just happened to be there with my fake GoPro videoing. Long story short, the group got split and we initially stopped to figure out what to do? I had no clue at first of why we stopped, but just kept the recorder going and then he decided to "pose".

Ed @MotoEd is cool as hell though. Just an AWESOME guy to hang out with!!!:fistbump:

@Jimmyboyblue then, I went on a solo run to try to catch-up to the split-off group and make radio contact with the only guy that had a Hi-Lift.

Here is what happened. Notice the creepya$$ RAV4 just chill'n in the dark???!!!:goingcrazy:
