2012 tacoma v6 manual transmission 30k on truck 2.85 pulley ucon ems. Running into some issues and am thinking it may be my clutch. Supercharger installed a little while back but less than 1000 miles since install and seems fine under low-medium throttle. Under 3/4 to full throttle (already in gear) it looses power and even bucks like a bad clutch let off. EXAMPLE- in third gear once I reach 2500 rpms I give the vehicle 3/4 to 100% of throttle vehicle will not smoothly accelerate through the rpm/power band. Im not a mechanic I just learn something new each day. Am I expecting too much from my stock clutch or could this be another issue entirely? Where do I start? Any help would be fantastic. If while in gear & accelerating, & the the tach is climbing & the truck isn't going faster, then it's the clutch. Clutch slippage after a s/c install is common with a stock clutch.
The bucking you describe sounds a little like rev limiter, hilting the max rpm's shuts down the ignition to prevent engine damage.

Bucking sounds like the UCON Guardian feature kicking in.
Is your ECU stock, TRD Flash, Magnuson/BullyDog Flash??

If you can reproduce the issue I would do a Data Log using the uTune app.

Do you have a AFR gauge? I think your the AFR goes too rich. Mine do it too at certain throttle.
Vote for another issue. Do you have an AFR gauge? I think the AFR goes too rich. Mine do it too at certain throttle. 2.85, UCON and manual too, but FJ, not Tacoma.

I do not have an afr gauge. I guess i had hoped that the ucon would do a better job of engine management as a plug and play unit. :notsure: it is possible though that it is not related to the ucon ems at all. I called gadet today but did not hear back from him( i know its vacation time for alot of folks). Saying that afr and boost gauges are on my short list.

I just need to put together a workable kit/gauge/mount/time/money solution.

I could just be that the UCON guardian feature is kicking it to protect your engine. Need to do some datalogs.

Best way is to email Gadget with URD the symptoms of the engine, and Scott who manages the UCON stuff will email you instructions on how to datalog.
