I want to get a 45 pistol, to be a future suppressor host. I'm torn between 3 options, a ar15 style pistol, full size glock (with threaded barrel and upgraded trigger) or a fnx 45.

Id like to keep it under $800. Anybody have any suggestions/input?

S&W M&P 2. My M&P fits like a glove, and the M&P 2 has an even better trigger. Aftermarket options abound, parts are common, they're accurate, and they're not overly expensive to buy in the first place, which leaves more $$ for a can.

I looked at them but Glocks fit my hands better than the s&w pistols (9mms) I've shot have.

I'm thinking G21sf and modifying it later

I'll second that, they make an FNX-45 Tactical that comes with a threaded barrel and suppressor height sights. Plus it has a removable plate on the slide to install a red dot if you ever want to.

My first Walther was the PPQ which I will always keep. Like you said, the trigger out of the box is awesome!

Well yeah, I mean you need to spray some WD-40 down the barrel every few thousand rounds

Mine is a PPQ M1 with the Euro style mag release, I really like that setup after getting used to it. I'm looking at a few options for a single stack 9mm carry gun and I wish the CCP had that option.

There's been some mentioning of FN on here lately. Anyone else a fan of the Five-seveN pistol? I'm itching to try the Elite Ammunition loads. I've got a green laser/strobe light unit mounted on it and a couple 30 rd mags.

Can’t beat a Vortex, they are not only priced reasonably but are actually well made.

Yup their warranty program is awesome. Used it once. Got sent a new scope cause they couldnt get to mine in what they deemed an acceptable time frame. Had the new one within a week of them receiving mine.
