how the hell do you buy a gun in California

So, I've been looking into picking up a handgun in California legally... but how the fuck do you do that. There are so many rules and regulations I have no fucking clue where to start.

wtf is a HSCP and why do I need it, and how the fuck do I get it

I just want to buy a fucking handgun home protection... I'd like a CCW but see as its worthless in california since you can't even take a legal gun into a restroom to take a shit...

OH but heaven forbid if I was a criminal I probably could get one quick!

First you have to go to the store where you want to buy that gun. Pay to take a stupid safety test, bull shit test so the gov. can make money! Then after you pass that test you pick the gun you want and pay for it and on top of that you pay for a back ground check then you wait 10 days. After all that is done you go back to the store and pick up your gun.

whats the rules for transporting? I heard that you had to have it visible and unloaded... then I also read that the gun and the ammo have to be in separate compartments of the vehicle?

 

why ... it's easy fella

first, go on gunbroker or gunsamerica and pick out a good used gun, preferably one on the CADOJ Approved list, and buy it

then have your friendly local FFL send the seller a copy of his FFL

of course, make sure it's a mom and pop FFL dealer, and treat 'em real sweet

i always bring a big bottle of bourbon for the first introduction

then the seller will send the gun to your FFL, and you'll pick it up for the low low price of the transfer fee

since you're buying a used gun, you shouldn't have to show any handgun safety card

and if'n you're really bright, you'll pick yourself up a early serial numbered Colt 1911 ... say 1954 or earlier, and you won't have to even worry about the CADOJ list

and you'll have yourself a timeless piece of shooting iron


why ... just recently i picked myself up a Glock 26 out of Florida, for near $400 ... used, but NIB and unfired, a 1952 Marlin 39 for under $500 and an H&R 622 in the box for about $70

transfer 'em all at once, and pay only one DROS fee

now, of course, if it's home protection you care about, well ...
you can walk into just about any sporting goods store or gun shop and pick yourself up a fairly affordable new -- or used -- Winchester 1300 Defender, Remington 870, Mossberg 500 or NEF Pardner

... all with an 18" barrel, capable of shooting the 2 3/4" or 3"
polymer or wooden stocks, with plenty of accessories and buckshot or slugs

now, somewhat recently picked up and old school Smith & Wesson 12g, used, for a $150 at a Culver City gun shop, and a slightly used - as in one time - NEF Pardner that i traded for a set of camshafts ... and then re-traded for a set of forks

deals abound




now ... if it's zombies you're settling a score with, i think a handgun is a poor choice, i'd still get the scattergun but as a backup, 'cause if you gotta resort to that, you've gotten yourself into a pickle, and they're in way too close ... way too close

for zombies, heck, i like my 10/22 or 39A ... you don't need nothing bigger than a .22LR to pop a zombie brain, and you'd do best to keep 'em at 50 to 100 yards

if you're hitting on 'em with a mosin, you're just wasting lead and attracting attention

And the CCW - might as well forget about it. I read on the news a week or so ago that a retired sheriff was denied for the CCW. You gotta be a politician to get a damn CCW around here...

 

There's a good gun shop in Watsonville. You can go there buy a gun and take a test for it, wait a week for a background check and your good to go.

5. 10 day wait
6. Pick up gun

It's really not that big of a deal. The problem is the guns we are allowed to buy are more restricted than other states. But there are still a lot of options. And for CCW, every county is different. There are some counties in California that issue a CCW. For the general public, you will not get one. As far as a waiver for the test, not yet. There is a law they are trying to pass that will exempt veterans from paying the fee. Just go to a shop and ask questions. They will tell you everything you need to know.

I am so sorry that the gun laws in Kalifornia are so screwed up. One of the many reasons I would never live there, not to mention they are going bankrupt.

 

Thats why you dont buy one in CA. You buy one in NV then drive it over to CA.
