so I plan to order a light bar and ditch lights for my Taco very soon from cali raised led. I'm also ordering two new switches, relay holder and a switch plate holder. And I was wondering if anyone could say how to wire the lights to the battery since the cali raised YouTube video on wiring didn't exactly go over that part and I've never wired before but everything seems very user friendly with the wiring harness they give but just wanted to know if someone had tips for installing the wiring that would be helpful and for installing the switch plate as well. Thanks

There are a bunch of wiring diagrams posted on here if you do a couple searches for them.

The wiring is super straight forward and the harness should come with a basic wiring diagram, pretty much connect the one wire to the batter and the other to the ground and you are done. Now if you are getting the switches from cali-raised that are the factory looking ones, unless he has changed his instructions on how to wire the switch specifically they are wrong(two wires need to be switched, not sure which ones)

Yeah it is the drivers side, and would it work pushing both wires right above the one that's already in there or should I make a slit on the outside and send em in

can you not fit it through the opening already there? i would stick a coat hanger or something through, tape the wires to it, add a drop of Vaseline so its niiiiice a slippery and pull it through?

This way for sure. Much easier than trying to cram the wire by itself. Be sure to tape it good though.

no problem, that gasket should give (expand to accommodate more wire). be easy, use a lubricant but pulling the harnesses through for two sets of lights should be simple. patience young padawan

They said in the video that the two red wires have to be put together and connected to a wire coming from the harness but I'm not sure how to connect em like that?

No it's closed off. I tried. There should be a groment lower. Be careful going on the driver side. It comes in right around the clutch if u have one.

If you connect them like that the lower switch light will always be on, just FYI.

Only connect the red wire closest to the green for the upper part of the switch to light up when you turn the lights on.
Connect the red closest to the black to a tap-fuse or dash light circuit if you want the lower part of the switch to light up when the vehicle is running.(This wire does not need to hooked up for the lights to work)

Yeah I don't really have a problem with the light always being on, but if I didn't connect he red closest to black to anything and connected the wire harness to the battery would my switch only light up when I press it?

Did you cap off this second red wire coming off the switch or just let it dangle? I tried the add-a-fuse method to tap into an interior fuse and something shorted out so I undid that. Now that red wire is just dangling

Oh yeah this was the video I referenced too. I put the add a fuse into what I think was the same spot this guy used. It was a 7.5 A fuse that it went into and I put a 10A fuse into the add a fuse to replace the 7.5. However something must have shorted out because after starting the truck once, the shifter knob was locked and I had to use the shift release slot to get the truck into drive. I seem to be the only one who had an issue doing this even though I followed the same steps...any thoughts from anyone here?
