So I took my truck to have the frame looked at Friday and it came back bad. My question is will a new frame increase the value of my truck? It's an 07 double cab TRD SR5 4x4 with 127k miles

a new frame won't increase the book value.a bad frame will lower it.... to me and a private sale it is definitely worth more.

It depends on your buyer....some would be like awesome!! Brand new frame?? Others would be like...nah.

I was comparing a new frame versus a rusted out one.

I’d say it will only help as in keeping the value up should you try to sell it. If an experienced Tacoma buyer showed up and looks at the frame you’ll lose the sell or get lowballed. Obviously it’s covered under warrenty but I’d say the two weeks or so it will be in the shop doesn’t sound good to people buying a pickup. I got my letter last week or so and I’m gonna take it in but it’s my work truck so I don’t know when it’ll get done if it even needs it. I’m in dry ass Texas so I not think I’ll need it.

Right now the truck is almost worthless. That is if you arent a complete scumbag and sell it to someone unsuspecting. If Toyota repairs the frame it will be valued just like it had the original factory frame underneath it. Because this is an original factory frame and the truck hasn't been wrecked.

For me, if the frame is bad enough to need replacing, then it's value is zero and a life-safety hazard. I'd get it replaced.

Rusted out frame or a free new frame. Hmmm...

Your truck has plenty of life in it - keep it going.

Thanks for the input guys. my truck is at the dealer now only down side is they said a minimum of 4-6 weeks! Then they didn't have any loaner cars so they took me to Enterprise and put me in a Nissan frontier 2x4! Not happy about that considering it's going to start snowing soon :/

Consider yourself lucky. I took mine in March 2016...Frame was put in on July 2016.

A fresh frame will help the value, if you'd point it out advertising it. Makes a great selling point and a peace of mind to buyers in the rust belt.

Guess I've got a really good dealer. Mine was 2 or 3 days and done. Can you not drive the truck until the frame comes in?

Mine was done in 2 days. My dealer is awesome..they had 4 teams of 3 doing them. The wait is so long because they build them to order...once they get the VIN, the order goes in. There's not a surplus of frames just sitting there. This is what the dealer told me.

You can, but you need to sign a waiver to drive it...which waives all liability. I signed it.

I'm about to go get mine cause the snow is on the way and this frontier is only 2x4 and I'm not happy with it. The quality just seems cheap
