If you are doing some crazy driving off road, and don't want the air bags to pop out ($$$) if you slowly or almost roll over. Press and hold in the button until light comes on. Owners Manual item, just fyi.

It’s like the easy button, when you press it, it makes life easier. Don’t press it too much though, if life gets too easy, well, its no bueno.

Turns out my 5-lug Taco actually does have this feature! I've had the truck for 8 years (since new), and I never knew I could shut off the side curtain airbags!

That’s the cool thing about our trucks, even after years of ownership, we find features about them, I’ve had mine for 8 years now too and always find out random things about it. Like the other day I just finally noticed the TPMS reset button.

Can't tell you how many 2nd gen owners I've met who didn't know about the telescoping steering column...

While at Raceway Park for the Spring 2015 swap meet, I met a vendor who owned a 2005 RC 5-lug (just like mine in terms of sock appearance but older) with only 55K miles on it! He had owned it since new, as in an entire decade, and didn't know about that feature until I showed him!

If there's anything all base model Tacoma owners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen) can relate to, it's the fact that their trucks don't have a feature that we take for granted.

I drive a 2010 RC 5-lug, which was a gift from my dad when it was brand new. I did not realize it lacked intermittent wipers until two days after we bought it!

As most of us know, installing the intermittent control is quite easy.

My dad bought me a brand new Toyota OEM switch from the dealer, as an early Christmas present, in December 2016.

My truck was going into the body shop for some minor work, so my body guy installed the control for an extra $10. All I can say is that I wish I'd done it earlier!

I've also heard of owners swapping in controls from Corollas and other Toyota vehicles. The swap is quite easy.

What confounds me is that the last Tacomas with crank windows rolled off the assembly line in 2014 and backup cameras have been standard on all models since 2015, but even in 2018, brand new Tacomas lack the this feature!

I've seen base 2nd gen V6 DCSB 4x4s that have steering wheel audio controls and cruise control from the factory, but only 2-speed wipers!

My dad says Toyota knows they've got a great product and not adding intermittent wipers to the cheapest models is a way for them to save a lot of money.

I just popped out the plastic trim and popped the oem lights in. For power I bought a wiring harness from the place recommend in the ultimate headlight mod thread and wired it to a OTRATTW switch inside the cab

Are you joking or do you seriously not know how to operate it? It's the same switch that operates the tilt function. Just push the wheel in and out, instead of up and down.

What was that about 35 degrees being cold?

This is the current temperature in the lovely little town where I work!

The three blanks above fit Carling switches (OTRATTW) perfectly. Just requires minor filing so its not really reversible, but it looks almost stock
