getting an assembled clamshell from ECGS is a great way to go... includes a warranty

then you can swap out the clamshell in your driveway some hand tools and some curse words

they can even send you an assembled 3rd to make life easy

Make sure if you do the front through ecgs check to see if you need to use the stub shaft from your old one. Some do some don't. Asked me how I know. I have an auto. I went 4.88s with my 35s. Works like a champ.

I believe it was pretty close to 1900 that is with the core charge. So I got 400 back when I sent my core back. I went with the ARB upfront as well. Literally took out a loan for regear and 35s. Haha. I will be paying on said loan for the next few years. :pout: o well it was worth it. Hahah

Best warranty and customer service I’ve had.
They should be able to know if he mails the entire assembly, it’s what I did

I’ve got the same setup and at 70 I’m around 2600. Driving is night and day power difference. Your elocker is still good but you just need the case. Other option is find a base and get the 8.4 and get it regeared. Eliminates e locker and you can run an air locker. Honestly the e lockers are pretty stout and haven’t heard of many issues with them. My 80 series has them front and rear and they get a little sticky from time to time but always work.

I’m wondering my necessity of the arb locker in the front or just doing without. I’ve never had any issues thus far with OEM til now. My locker and 4 low has got me out of plenty I never should of been in the first place. So I’m figuring front clamshell with no locker and rear 3rd member I’m looking out at 2400$ then 800$ back in core charges assuming they’ll take my destroyed 3rd member

Yeah I found out right away that I forgot it. I called them and they told me they would send me one they had laying around because they wouldn't touch the one I sent in until they needed it for an order.

Idk I would think as long as the housing is still good. They may not give you the full amount. Idk. May just have to call or email them.

I don’t wheel serious enough to be much more than a weekend warrior and even then my wallet is too tight to spend hundreds breaking shit all the time doing serious wheeling. If I was setting up a SAS front end then yeah I’d do the lockers but for an IFS I can’t see trying to be serious with it

Looking at this the pics are a bit blurry. But is your e locker housing cracked?

And I know I will catch shit for this but East Coast Gear Supply appears(based on the number of blown diffs I have seen) to be in the business of just slapping 3rd members together to cover warranties. My personal opinion... get your 3rd set up right the first time and you will not have to warranty replace it. I would rather have a diff that will last a lifetime rather then a diff that blows every 2 years with a warranty replacement. But that is just me.

No it’s not cracked. It is scarred up from a bolt that came out of the ring and bounced around....
