Front Hub Assembly the same for both sides?

I have a 2007 Tacoma 4x4 with a bad front left wheel bearing.
I'm going to replace the whole hub assembly as it seems that's the easiest option.

My question is: Are the hub assembly the same for the Left and Right side?
Or are they different?

Is there anything other than the inner dust seal and o-ring that I will need?
Is it OK to reuse the axle nut? Or is it a NyLock nut and one time use?

 

The hubs are the same. Usually the assemblies come with the inner seal and the o-ring, but check with your supplier. You will also need the dust seal on the CV axles. I don't see any reason to not re-use the axle nut. I re-used mine. I got my assemblies from Bamatoy.

tell him you want the inner seal and the o-ring, just to make sure. He does not supply the CV dust seal, and I got mine at the dealer. I could not find an aftermarket match.

Be advised, the inner seal is going to require more disassembly - the tie rod and sway bar. If the inside area of the knuckle is relatively free of rust, you may not need to replace the inner seal. I'm on my third set of wheel bearings and have only replaced the driver-side seal - and it was not needed. After replacing it I came to the aforementioned conclusion. Do apply silicone on the seals and all rubber to metal contact points.

 

Let us know how this goes! I need to also replace both wheel bearings.

 

The more I think about it. I really want to keep the work to a minimum.
If it looks relatively clean inside, I likely just replace the hub and o-ring.
But this thing has been failing for month. I'm ashamed I waited this far to fix.
I can't even drown out the noisr with the radio at this point.
