I just told #wifey about this conversion and she pointed out that I never shared what the base is that the grow tent is sitting on top of. We've had it for about a decade, but haven't used it in a couple years. It's the 4'x4' stage for our stripper pole. I figure if I ever decide you set it up again, I'll just move the tent down to the ground, but for now it raises it up a but for me.

Okay. If you are really committed to the idea of having those lights always come on when you are in reverse, we'll have to butcher that harness. Could you also research where to find a trigger wire on a first gen that we can tap into in the cab or under the hood that is live when you shift to reverse?

 

Isn't there a reverse switch on the transmission on the right side today the top?
One should be hot when in reverse. I know mine has one. I'm doing the same on mine soon. I already found it on my 5 speed manual.

Neither. It's pretty much a Kratky system. No power needed other than lights and fans!

 

I can't wait to get mine done. I will be known as an asshole.

I ran mine independently. Set to a switch so I can decide to turn on or not. In some urban situations the lights will be too bright, and you wont be able to see squat. Everything gets bleached out.

 

Mine are diffused. Rigid SR-Q. Flush mount. Freaking bright. Run separately through a 4SPOD to a rocker switch in the overhead.

 

My ambers are diffused. And pretty bright.

 

You got enough heat to keep you warm all winter
