Morning all! A balmy -8 at the house today. Woodstove is a-crankin' though, so inside it was 72.
Bring a scarf if you go. My breath froze to my beard while I was doing chores this morning, and by the time I had finished (about 15 minutes) I was already working on a set of icicles on my upper lip.

Agreed except for the drilled part. On a street driven vehicle with good rotors they are of zero benefit. You'll never heat the pads up enough to justify drilled rotors. Only thing it'll do is eat your pads faster. Slotted maybe, but they also have very little effect besides evacuating water off the rotors a little faster.

Brembo blanks with oem pads is probably the best all around setup before upgrading to larger brakes.

Seconded. Unless you're doing a lot of heavy-duty towing (well outside the capacity of a Toyota type of heavy duty) or using it as a race car drilled rotors are a waste of $$

Anyone else notice that in all these in truck temp photos today - the trucks are instructing to be driven S or SW. Clearly the trucks do have an opinion about severe cold.

I need to do pads and rotors soon too. Looking at centric blank rotors and either the TRD pads or hawk hps 5.0 pads

    Undecided yet...

Ahh revenge is a dish best served cold. The other day my windshield was frosted up at work (I get out at 8am.) my coworker comes over and dumps a bottle of water on the windshield so at 14 degrees out it instantly freezes and turns into a thin sheet of armor I couldn’t chip off. Took 15 minutes to melt enough to drive home.

Today I decorated his windshield with a dozen wet cucumber slices.:bananadance:

    Yea I've seen that too

I don't tow much so don't feel the need to do a full upgrade, pads should be good enough for my purpose s
