I grew up in a family of drag racers. (NHRA Super Stockers in the '60's and '70's) Several people went together and rented an old gas station. Someone was there all the time. About the time I turned 16, my interest switched to dirt bikes. I had a talent for tuning 2-strokes, plus some "connections" within Honda. Dads garage became a dirt bike clubhouse. When I got my licenses, first vehicle was a 1973 Ford F250 "hi-boy" 4wd. Then a Jeep CJ5. It was dirt bikes and mud trucks. When the "fad" part of 4-wheeling kicked off in the mid 70's, it was "muddin'"....A lot of big trucks with 35's or 38's. After the 4 years in the Army, my interest was early stages of rock crawling....I left the mud for hills and rocks. My first house had a 48' X 60' pole barn in the back yard. There was always 3 or 4 Jeeps in various stages of dis-assemble in the barn, along with all my dirt bikes. It was early 90's when the bikes went away. Had to "grow up" according to 1st wife....Too many bad influences in and out with 2 young kids (according to her) Now I have a heated garage, all the tools you could imagine, and all my 4wd buddies live HOURS away. I do some side work on other people's trucks (install the occasional lift kit) Problem is now, medical issues and age have just beat me down to where a lift kit install = a week off work to heal. So 99.9% of what goes on here is my stuff and at a slow pace. Even in GOOD weather.

Flying to Vermont tomorrow with my son. My son has been begging me to bring him to see snow...I think it’ll be too cold to snow!

 

I called the Inspector assigned to my job, he is on vacation. I called the city to see who was filling in and was forwarded to another person on vacation. I called the city again, I explained the situation and was transferred again to someone on vacation. Pretty impressive. :-/
